Pronouns
editThe subject uses he/him pronouns and should be used as per MOS:GENDERBIO despite competing in the women's division of his sports. This is as per the 2023 article One Sports where his partner uses he/him for Bacyadan in quotes in plain English. Additionally, the latest One Sports article on his qualification for women's boxing in the 2024 Summer Olympics still uses he/him. It is fact that he does compete in women's sport on the basis of his birth sex.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:52, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- However, the One Sports article only refers to what the subject's partner is using for them, the Bacyadan has not indicate preferences themselves. Most WP:RS still uses she/her including the Philippine sports association protest against Russia. So this is more of a gray area vis-a-vis WP:GENDERID.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 16:07, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- I have asked WP Talk:Manual of Style/Gender identity for input. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 16:24, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, there's new info. There are two pronoun preferences stated so far:
- He/him – One Sport (as per Bacyadan's partner)
- Any – Preview.ph - exact quote "When I asked him for his pronouns, Hergie left it up to my hands" (sic)... But author decides to use he/him for them
- She/her – other sources published at the same time as the two cites; probably in consideration for "less confusion" since he competes in the women's division.
