Dunkin’ Opens New Coffee Shop, Remodels Another In Anne Arundel County
A former Merchant Marine opened a new Dunkin' in Gambrills. He also remodeled and reopened a location in downtown Annapolis.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Dunkin' is celebrating the grand opening of a new restaurant in Gambrills and the reopening of a remodeled location in downtown Annapolis over the next week.
Both franchises are owned by Maritime Coffee Time, founded in 2003 by former Merchant Marine Todd Lalumiere.
"Gambrills is a growing community, and we saw a great opportunity to bring Dunkin' closer to local residents, commuters, and businesses. This location allows us to serve our guests with the convenience of a drive-thru and a modern store layout," Lalumiere told Patch in a Friday statement.

The Gambrills eatery features a two-lane drive-thru at 696 Maryland Route 3 North across from the Showroom Shine car wash. The 2,500-square-foot location employs 20 crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. It seats 18 customers.
The Gambrills Dunkin' was built from the ground up, replacing a vacant car dealership. The new building still has two attached vacant units, but it's not yet clear what will occupy those spaces.

The Annapolis store is situated at 38 West St. between Mission Escape Rooms and Luna Blu Ristorante Italiano. The 1,500-square-foot Dunkin' has six crew members. It is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Maritime also owns six other Dunkin' locations: two more in Annapolis, two in Lothian, one in Edgewater and one in Stevensville.
Lalumiere was drawn to the Annapolis area because he loves the water. He traveled from Maine to Maryland weekly during the construction of his first store, the one in Stevensville, and even lived on a sailboat in the Chesapeake Bay during the build. That Kent Island location eventually became the highest-grossing Dunkin' in Maryland.
With an affinity for Annapolis, Lalumiere said it was time to update his downtown location.
"Annapolis is a vibrant and historic city, and we wanted our Dunkin' location to reflect that energy. The remodel brings a fresh, modern look to the store while enhancing service efficiency to better meet the needs of our loyal customers," he said.

The Gambrills location opened on March 4, but the grand opening is Saturday.
The first 100 customers 18 and older in line at 9 a.m. will get free coffee for a year. The ribbon-cutting is at 10 a.m., and Lalumiere will present a $500 grant to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.
The Annapolis store was closed for about three weeks in December 2024 for a remodel, but it has since reopened.
The grand reopening ceremony starts at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and includes a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting.
Both locations' ceremonies will feature a Dunkin' Mascot, free samples and swag giveaways.
"As customer needs evolve, Dunkin' is committed to providing an elevated guest experience. These remodels allow us to incorporate new technology, enhance operational efficiency, and create a welcoming space that reflects our modern brand," Lalumiere said.
The expansion is part of Dunkin's push to modernize with its Next-Generation restaurants.
"The Next-Generation Dunkin' offers a modern, streamlined experience designed for convenience and efficiency. With features like a tap system for cold beverages, a dedicated mobile order pickup area, and energy-efficient equipment, this new model enhances both speed and sustainability for our guests," Lalumiere said.
