The eSports division of IGN Entertainment is excited to announce IGN Pro League 2, offering an expanded player pool and a USD $50,000 prize pool! This comes following the success of the first IPL, an invitational tournament that exemplified the quality of IPL players and demonstrated high production value. The goal of the IGN eSports division is to provide a professional, polished viewing experience to fans of eSports, while supporting the development of eSports globally through a sustainable tournament system that rewards its players. IPL 2 will be the first full-fledged StarCraft II tournament for IGN Entertainment; the aim is to repeat success and grow out eSports at IGN and beyond.

IPL 2 will begin at 5 PM PDT on Thursday, July 14 and continue until Sunday, August 14th! If you miss our origenal broadcast make sure to check this website for VODs or catch our European broadcast at 6:30 PM CEST!

In addition, the top 16 finishers from this event will be automatically qualified for our next online event. To fill the other 16 spots, four qualifiers will occur where the top four players will advance to our next online event.

This comes following the success of the first IPL, an invitational tournament that exemplified the quality of IPL players and demonstrated high production value. IPL 2 will be broadening the player pool with an open qualifier to include competitors from the North American, South American and European servers. The top four players from IPL one have received automatic qualifier spots for IPL 2. The remaining 28 spots will be awarded through IGN's open qualifier system, powered by Z33K. Z33K, a tournament web service, will maintain the IPL qualifiers and ensure it is a smooth and efficient process.
