TMZ is reporting that entertainment icon Dick Clark has died this morning at the age of 82 after suffering a "massive heart attack."

Clark, host and producer of the live music dance party American Bandstand from 1956 to 1989, had been in St. John's hospital in L.A. recovering from an outpatient procedure from the night before.

Clark created and hosted New Years' Rockin' Eve, which is now hosted by Ryan Seacrest after Clark suffered a stroke in 2004. He also hosted many game shows such as Pyramid and Scattergories, the tv show TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes on top of earning a total of five Emmy Awards and one Peabody Award.
