Berklee Popular Music Institute

The Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) is an immersive education program that takes you from the classroom to the festival stage. BPMI students interface with all facets of the music industry, including working in A&R, artist development, recording, booking, promotion, social media, sponsorship, and live shows. During the summer festival season, the program also provides you the opportunity to work with Berklee City Music sites as you tour the country.

Follow BPMI on their summer tour, with stops at Lollapalooza, Osheaga, Essence, and more.

BPMI Goals

  • Send students to attend and work with festivals such as Lollapalooza, Osheaga, CMJ, and SXSW.
  • Pair music business students with artists as they put into practice what they’ve learned at Berklee, from contracts and branding to the craft of performance and recording.
  • Position music business students to work alongside today's top music industry professionals, and give artists the preparation they need to be better players, and step off the festival stage knowing they have what it takes to pursue a career in music.
