This concert will feature Berklee City Music® scholars attending the Five-Week Summer Performance Program as they play jazz, pop/rock, choral music, big band, and R&B. 

This concert includes three All-Star bands, featuring the winners of the Five-Week Instrumental Showcase Auditions, along with the Five-Week Jazz and Rock Workshops, the Women’s Performance Program ensemble, and the Five-Week Motown and Tower of Power ensembles.

Berklee College of Music faculty member Dan Bowden presents a blues clinic and performance featuring concepts to personalize and expand your soloing ideas. Ed Lucie (bass) and Ralph Rosen (drums) also will perform.

David Gilmore has performed and recorded with many of today’s most influential artists, including Wayne Shorter, Steve Coleman, Christian McBride, Dave Douglas, and Rudresh Mahanthappa.

The Perlak/Tronzo Duo bridges the worlds of classical and modern improvised music. The repertoire of Kim Perlak and David Tronzo, both faculty in the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music, consists of co-composed works that draw on new ideas and elements of their traditions.

Guy Van Duser, a legendary fingerstyle guitarist, is joined by faculty members Larry Baione on rhythm guitar, Bob Winter on piano, Bruno Raberg on acoustic bass, and Jon Hazilla on drums, working as a typical Nashville session band of the 1950s and ’60s.
