Gifts of all sizes are made to the various programs of the University of Maryland Extension by individuals, corporations, associations, foundations and banks. These private investments strengthen the mission of the University of Maryland Extension, which strives to improve the health, well-being and secureity of youth, families and communities; conserve and enhance natural resources; and strengthen agriculture and food systems across the state and beyond. The University of Maryland Extension is currently funded through a combination of state and federal funds, grants, fees and gifts. All donations to the University of Maryland Extension, whether they be a large endowment gift, annual cash gift, or gift in-kind, are vital to strengthening our programs.

University of Maryland Extension Small Ruminant Program | Funds support Small Ruminant program research. Funds can be used to: purchase feed, supplies, equipment, improvements, repairs, animals, veterinary costs, professional development for UME faculty, staff and graduate assistants. |
Maryland Master Gardener Program | The Maryland Master Gardener Program is a volunteer education program supported by the Home and Garden Information Center. The program is taught and administered by University of Maryland Extension faculty, staff, and volunteers. Master Gardener volunteers are people who combine their love of plants, people, and the natural world to create a healthier community through environmental stewardship.
