Natus Vincere coach Sergey "starix" Ischuk has stepped down from his role in the team, HLTV.org has learned.

The 29-year-old is currently on leave, with his future role being unclear at this moment. He is currently replaced by team analyst Andriy "⁠Andi⁠" Prokhorov, who, in his Steam profile, describes himself as "Na´Vi's CS:GO coach & analyst".

Andi joined Na`Vi's ESEA roster on Wednesday and was in the game server coaching the team in Thursday's ESL Pro League fixtures. This morning, he wrote on Twitter that "now it's time", having "been hiding in the shadows for a long time".

Na`Vi have been tipped to undergo roster changes after a run of poor form that has seen the team win just one event - ESL One New York - in the last 12 months.

starix has been the team's coach for two years

But it seems now that the current roster may be given another chance, with Na`Vi instead choosing to revamp the backroom staff by replacing Sergey "⁠starix⁠" Ischuk, who has been the team's coach since March 2015.

The CIS team were recently in action at IEM Katowice, where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by eventual champions Astralis. They currently sit fifth in the ESL Pro League, on a 4-2 record, with their next offline event being the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 finals, taking place from April 4-9 in Kiev.

But NaVi is tier 1 team while Gambit is tier 2 - at least on paper. NaVi plays below their level, Gambit above. That's all that matters. NaVi was supposed to be the best team on the planet, they are not. Gambit is however marching towards their goal.

It sort of is his fault for allowing retards to stay retarded. You need to rule with an iron fist in a team with Russian teenagers. Starix lacks charisma. His calm nature is much more advantageous for a player, he never tilts. I wish he came back as a player, he wasn't that bad when he stood in for Guardian in DH Malmo 2016 group stage.

To put your statement in perspective, with zeus they didn't lose in any group stage since katowice 2014 and didn't have a longer streak than 4 lans where they didn't get at least top2. Now they have several group stage finishes and a 6 lan streak where they don't get top2, hell 5 of them were not even top4 and a couple of group stage exits aswell...

This can be explained with other aspects as well. Main reason giardian being in the best form of his carreer. Just watch some of the vods with zeus in navi in losing matches. Hes just as emotional as flamie and seized. I mean hes probably one of the most likeable players in csgo currently but he has been known to tilt amd rage from time to time

The difference is that seized never was an igl.. When they did -zeus +s1mple starix could actually lead in game and call the shots then you had this restricting coaching rule so seized had to call, but that wasn't how it was supposed to work in the begining so if you ask me you can't compare the two

yeah this personally. he may not be the 'problem' in terms of that his style of calling in a a team is bad, but maybe Na`Vi just aren't listening to him and what he's saying, so they need someone new just like Astralis with gla1ve. I dont think the problem lies with simple, even if the team chemistry is way outta wack simple is the only one who has been performing of late. Any of these players would be stars on other teams and individually as well as a team need to step it up so perhaps this is the revamp they needed. Zeus isn't irreplaceable and seized isn't the man for his job there are good IGL's in CIS - B1ad3 for example I think it's worth a try -Edward +B1ad3 seized as a regular player is much better than Edward imo

Maybe I mean since that coach rule Valve put in he isn't allowed to give that much input on LAN for them but kicking the only reason you were ever good is the biggest mistake they'll ever make, to me this is the nail in the coffin for this team. Edward is literally the last Na'vi player still on Na'vi and I wonder how long that will last? Maybe a couple more months maybe?
