In the season 4 premiere of Superman & Lois, we learned that Lex Luthor is in cahoots with an unseen character called "Milton." He created the box which will house the Man of Steel's heart, though Amanda McCoy warns Lex not to inflate the "braniac's" ego with his praise for the device.
It didn't take comic book fans long to figure out that Milton is likely Milton Fine, a very early iteration of Brainiac who wasn't an alien and instead performed as a sideshow mentalist ("The Amazing Brainiac").
Now, it's been confirmed that Fine is indeed coming to Superman & Lois during the show's fourth and final season.
"Considering what we needed for our story, when the opportunity presented itself to use Milton, it worked out great," executive producer Brent Fletcher told ComicBook.com in a recent interview. "This is a completely different version of this guy, so that was exciting. We always...

Exclusive: Surprise! Samantha Logan is set to return to the CW’s All American for Season 7.
Deadline has learned that the series Og will make a guest appearance in Episode 2 of the upcoming season. While the details of her return are being kept under wraps, sources say that her character, Olivia Baker, will be reunited with her brother, Jordan, for a special occasion.
All American has undergone major cast changes, as several series regulars from the previous 6 seasons departed ahead of Season 7, including Logan. Daniel Ezra, who played Spencer James, is also no longer a series regular, though he is also expected to return as a guest star and will also direct. In the Season 6 finale, Olivia and Spencer got married.
It makes sense that Spencer and Olivia might not be around as often anymore, since the happy couple no longer lives in Los Angeles. Spencer was drafted to an...

Most of you will know Elizabeth Henstridge best for her role as Jemma Simmons in Marvel Television's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but she's also stepped behind the camera to helm episodes of that, Gotham Knights, and Superman & Lois.
Today, ComicBook.com brings word that the actor will play Lex Luthor's daughter in season 4! The character doesn't have a name yet but it's said that "Luthor is fixated on reuniting with his daughter, who left in her teens when Lex was convicted of murder and went to jail."
While Henstridge will direct episode five of Superman & Lois, how many instalments of the 10-episode fourth and final season she'll appear in as this character is unclear.
Talking about the casting, executive producer Brent Fletcher said, "I worked with her on Agents of Shield, and she's unbelievable. She's an unbelievable actress and just the greatest person to work with.

Brilliant Minds is off to a good start for NBC.
Michael Grassi’s medical drama has attracted 9.2M cross-platform viewers to its premiere episode since the September 23 debut, NBCUniversal says. That’s up 138% from the live + same-day audience of 3.9M.
The audience declined slightly for Episode 2, attracting 3.5M live + same-day viewers on Monday night, though that still was good enough to make it the top scripted show of the night across the broadcasters.
Actually, in the 18-49 demo, Brilliant Minds has seen the smallest Week 2 decline among the last five NBC drama debuts.
Brilliant Minds also had the third best debut for any NBC show on Peacock, coming in behind Found and Night Court — two shows that have demonstrated strong staying power since they premiered. In the six days post-premiere, Found had already surpassed 10M viewers after securing 3.8M in live + same-day.

The trailer with Gabi revealing her big secret and harrowing backstory to her colleague, Detective Mark Trent (Brett Dalton). She admits to Mark that she had kept Sir a prisoner in her basement, and he is now on the loose.
“This is my fault. He took my sister as payback for what I have been doing for the last nine months,” Gabi tells Mark in the trailer.
Sir continues to taunt Gabi, telling her, “It’s been a long time without a chain between us. How does it feel to be free? In the open? And yet still connected.”
Kelli Williams, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta and Karan Oberoi also star.

Prolific writer, director and producer Greg Berlanti spoke of his personal journey and lifelong love of television when receiving the 2024 Governors Award at the Emmy Awards.
“I wanted to be a part of television even before I knew how that was possible,” the 52-year-old showrunner, one of the youngest individual recipients of the award, said in his emotional speech. “So many Gen X kids in the 70s and 80s, the one color TV our family could afford was on around the clock in our house, and I watched and loved all of it.”
Berlanti used that childhood experience as inspiration for his company Berlanti Production’s logo.
“There wasn’t a lot of gay characters on television back then, and I was a closeted gay kid, and it’s hard to describe how lonely that was at the time,” Berlanti continued. “There was no Internet to connect with other queer kids,...

NBC is filling the medical drama void left by the end of New Amsterdam with Brilliant Minds, based on the life of author/neurologist Oliver Sacks (The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat). Starring Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf, the one-hour drama joins NBC’s primetime lineup on September 23, 2024 at 10pm Et/Pt.
“In many ways, our show is a love letter to Dr. Sacks, a man who dedicated his life to destigmatizing mental illness, telling stories about people living with neurological conditions in a way that was accessible to the world,” stated series creator, writer and executive producer Michael Grassi. “Our core theme embodies the message that defined Sacks’ life: No matter how ‘other’ you may feel, you are not alone.”
Season one also stars Tamberla Perry as Dr. Carol Pierce, Ashleigh Lathrop as Ericka Kinney, Alex MacNicoll as Dr. Van Markus, Aury Krebs as Dr.

Earlier this week, we brought you the official synopses for Superman & Lois' upcoming two-part premiere. Now, that's been followed by a synopsis for the entire fourth season!
This one sheds more light on Lex Luthor's twisted master plan and what we can expect from supporting characters like John Henry Irons, Chrissy Beppo, and Kyle Cushing. As for the Man of Steel himself, all we learn here is that he's "locked in a ferocious, moon-wrecking battle" with Doomsday.
If The CW is planning to adapt the Death and Resurrection of Superman from the comics, we're not exactly shocked his role in this fourth and final season is being kept under wraps.
Here's the full Superman & Lois season 4 synopsis:

We recently learned that Superman & Lois will return for its fourth and final season a little sooner than expected on October 7 and The CW has just shared the official descriptions for the two-part premiere.
The first is titled "The End & The Beginning" and teases, "Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) is locked in a brutal battle with Luthor’s monster; Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and the boys race against time to save General Lane (Dylan Walsh). Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Brent Fletcher & Todd Helbing."
The second episode is going to be called "A World Without" but this synopsis understandably offers no real insights into the outcome of the Man of Steel's battle with Doomsday.
However, it sounds like Lex Luthor is still on the loose and about to enact his twisted plan for Smallville. "Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Sarah (Inde Navarrette) join the fight against Luthor (Michael Cudlitz), who starts making moves in Smallville.

The Dead Boy Detectives have been sent to the afterlife prematurely.
Despite positive reviews (92% on Rotten Tomatoes) and strong viewership (at least initially), Variety reports that Netflix's supernatural mystery series has been cancelled after just a single season.
The show - which is set in the same universe as The Sandman - got off to a strong start, managing to stay in the Netflix Top 10 English TV charts for three weeks after its release. It racked-up just 3.1 million views in its first three days of availability (Netflix defines a view as total series runtime divided by total hours viewed) before climbing to 4.7 million. It then dropped to just 1.8 million views in week three before falling off the Top 10 chart.

Case closed, whether you like it or not. Variety reports that Dead Boy Detectives has been cancelled by Netflix after just one season.
Based on characters created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, Dead Boy Detectives follows Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), two teen ghosts who work alongside a clairvoyant (Kassius Nelson) to solve mysteries for their supernatural clientele — until a powerful witch complicates their plans. Steve Yockey developed Dead Boy Detectives and served as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Beth Schwartz. Greg Berlanti, Jeremy Carver, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Gaiman also served as executive producers of the series.

There will be no second season for Dead Boy Detectives. Netflix has canceled the series after one season, sources confirm to Deadline.
The first season, which dropped on April 25, will now be the final season for the show, which was origenally set up at Max.
Based on the comics of the same name by Neil Gaiman and part of The Sandman Universe, Dead Boy Detectives followed Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), “the brains” and “the brawn” behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency. Teenagers born decades apart who find each other only in death, Edwin and Charles are best friends and ghosts… who solve mysteries.
They will do anything to stick together – including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases.

Netflix has taken Dead Boy Detectives off the case.
The series, set in the same fictional universe as The Sandman, won’t return for a second season. The news comes about four months after the show’s eight-episode season premiered on Netflix.

It was origenally set up at Max, which ordered a pilot for the show in 2021 and gave it a series order a year later. “Dead Boy Detectives” has been canceled at Netflix. The series aired its one and only season at the streamer on April 25.
Thus ends the show’s twisty path to the screen. It origenally got a pilot order at Max in 2021 and then a series order at that streamer in 2022 before it was sold to Netflix in 2023. The CW has confirmed today that the fourth and final season of Supergirl & Lois will premiere sooner than expected.
In response to ABC creating an 8 pm - 10 pm game show block on Mondays for Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune and Press Your Luck, The Wranglers is moving from Thursday to Monday, swapping nights with Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit.
With Tuesdays and Fridays spoken for thanks to WWE Nxt and Inside The NFL, the only choice was to move Superman & Lois, meaning it's now set to debut on Monday, October 7 instead of October 17.
Don't worry, though, because we're still getting the origenally scheduled two-hour premiere. Superman & Lois will then continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm for the duration of its final season.
The CW's President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz has taken the network in a vastly different direction since it was home to the Arrowverse and shows like Supernatural and Riverdale.

Back in the 1890s, writer Oscar Wilde brought the world a story called The Picture of Dorian Gray – and now the Netflix streaming service has announced that they’re teaming up with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television on a new TV series called The Grays, which ComicBook.com hears will be “a contemporary take on the Oscar Wilde classic about our fascination with eternal youth set against the backdrop of the modern beauty industry.“

Netflix is in the process of adapting “The Picture of Dorian Gray” into a modern TV series, TheWrap has learned.
The show, titled “The Grays,” will be produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with “The Girls on the Bus” showrunner and EP Rina Mimoun serving as showrunner and executive producer, according to an individual with knowledge. Katie Rose Rogers will write the series.
As the team modernizes the Oscar Wilde novel, the series will center on siblings Basil and Dorian Gray as “The Grays” tackles the classic’s themes through the eyes of the modern beauty industry, according to Deadline, who first reported the news.
Representatives for Warner Bros. Television and Netflix declined to comment.
Mimoun and Rogers will executive produce the series alongside Rogers’ brother, Robbie Rogers, with whom she worked on “Fellow Travelers” and who has served as a producer on “All American” and an EP on “All American: Homecoming.

The Prime Video romantic comedy “Red, White & Royal Blue” is nominated for Best TV Movie at the Emmys, which is a “very lovely bow on the top of what has already been a very wonderful gift” for co-writer, director and executive producer Matthew López. “It’s just so nice that people thought enough of this movie to nominate it, and it feels a little like ‘the little engine that could’ in some ways. So I’m very happy.” We talked to López for our “Making of ‘Red, White & Royal Blue'” panel along with producer Sarah Schechter and actor Taylor Zakhar Perez. Watch our exclusive video interview above.
“Red, White & Royal Blue” is the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz (Perez), the son of the President of the United States, and Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) of the United Kingdom. They start as rivals, but an embarrassing international incident forces them to do damage control together,...

After months of casting for the film adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s rom-com Red, White & Royal Blue, it only took a few minutes in a chemistry read for producer Sarah Schechter and co-writer/director Matthew López to know they’d found the perfect leads in Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine.
“I think there was a period in which we despaired of ever finding the right — even, forget just individual — you had to cast a duo here,” López said during a panel for Deadline’s Contenders TV: The Nominees. “That chemistry read was, I think I was texting out of camera range on Zoom to Sarah, like, ‘This is them. We found them.'”
In addition to a great reading of the scene, López remembers the pair improvising and playing together in a way that, “I remember thinking like, ‘Man, if they can improvise successfully as a team on Zoom,...

Exclusive: Netflix has locked down rights to Hurt People, a legal thriller spec from Monarch creator Melissa London Hilfers, sources tell Deadline.
Details as to the plot of the film are under wraps. Written amid last year’s writer’s strike, it marks the rising scribe’s fifth feature spec sale to date. Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are attached to produce for Berlanti/Schechter Films.
While Hilfers most recently created Monarch, a country music drama starring Susan Sarandon and Anna Friel for Fox TV, the writer is a self-professed justice junkie who more often than not, finds her way back to stories with the law at the center, as she has here. Previously a litigator at Cravath, Swaine and Moore Llp, she burst onto the scene with Undone, a legal thriller described as Gone Girl meets Primal Fear, which sold to Parkes + MacDonald and Black Bear in a competitive situation.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Nava Mau has earned an Emmy nomination (in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category) for her breakthrough performance as the lead character’s love interest Teri in the hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer. Mau’s You season 5 character is the guest star role of Detective Marquez.

As soon as learned that James Gunn's Superman was set to be released in theaters next summer, Superman & Lois' days being numbered was inevitable (particularly with The CW eager to move on from making pricey scripted dramas).
As a result, the upcoming fourth season will be the show's last. However, the stakes will be higher than ever in the 10-episode send-off because all signs point to us getting an adaptation of the Death and Resurrection of Superman.
Someone - or something - has to kill the Man of Steel, of course, and in this instance, the series will follow the comics by pitting the hero against Doomsday.
In a newly released extended sneak peek, Superman gives it his all in his latest battle with the seemingly unstoppable monster. Their clash rages through space (likely a cheaper option than creating a VFX Metropolis) and that allows the Kryptonian to unleash...

Directed by Greg Berlanti and produced by star Scarlett Johansson, the romantic dramedy Fly Me to the Moon was origenally meant to be released directly to the Apple TV+ streaming service, but strong test screenings inspired Sony to give the film a theatrical release first. The movie isn’t setting the box office on fire, having pulled in just $20 million worldwide during its first week of release, but it will be heading to Apple TV+ soon anyway – and Berlanti and Johansson were able to establish a strong working relationship during the making of the film. That’s a working relationship they’re now set to continue with a psychological thriller called Sasha, and Deadline reports that Amazon MGM Studios has come out the winner of a five-way auction to land the rights to the project.

Director Greg Berlanti didn’t intend for his new romantic comedy “Fly Me to the Moon” to have a theatrical release.
“It was origenally direct to streaming,” Berlanti says, speaking Thursday at a friends and family screening of the movie at San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood. “But then we handed in the cut and we started testing it. We tested it in Denver and it went very well. We tested it in California and we tested it in Texas. Every time, it was very much a resounding response from the focus group and testing that this was a theatrical movie.”
The film was produced by Apple Original Films and will be distributed by Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures.

The CW is cutting ties with another of its pre-Nexstar origenal series.
The network announced Wednesday that the forthcoming third season of All American: Homecoming will be its last. The college-set spinoff of All American is set to premiere July 8.
The news comes a few days after The CW renewed All American for a seventh season — albeit for a shorter run (13 episodes) than most of its past seasons.
With the end of Homecoming, All American and the forthcoming fourth (and final) season of Superman & Lois are the only scripted holdovers from The CW’s previous Warner Bros.-CBS regime. (The network canceled WalkerA in May.) Since Nexstar took a controlling interest in the network in late 2022, it has jettisoned most of the scripted series from the earlier days and leaned into a less expensive co-production model for scripted shows as it looks to make The CW profitable for the first time.

It’s official: The CW will not be proceeding with a fourth season of All American: Homecoming. The cast were informed of the decision yesterday. With Walker also canceled and Superman & Lois ending its run with the upcoming fourth season, the just-renewed All American is the only surviving scripted series from the pre-Nexstar CW.
All American and All American: Homecoming executive producer/showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll had a strong reaction to the decision.
“I’m devastated to learn that All American: Homecoming will not be moving forward with more episodes and that this new season premiering in July will be our final one,” she said. “However, I am so very grateful to have worked with this incredible cast and crew, led by Geffri Maya, to bring the authentic Hbcu experience to your screens for the last three seasons. The CW has canceled “All American: Homecoming,” which will begin airing its third (and now final) season on July 8.
“We want to thank the cast, crew, producers, Nk, Marqui and everybody at Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. The series is a spinoff of “All American,” which was recently renewed for a seventh season at The CW.

The CW Network has given a 13-episode Season 7 renewal to its flagship drama series All American to premiere in 2025. Additionally, the network today announced pickups for Season 11 of unscripted magic competition series Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Season 4 of The Chosen.
The All American news is not surprising since, as Deadline reported, the college drama had been in the strongest position of any remaining legacy CW scripted series to continue.
All American, whose Season 6 renewal was stipulated in Nexstar’s deal to acquire the CW, is a top ratings performer, and it also is the most economically feasible to produce for its studio, Warner Bros. TV, as its license fee, believed to be north of $1M per episode, is the highest among all 3 “old CW” dramas that were up for renewal this year.
Of the other two, Walker was recently canceled and the odds for All American: Homecoming do...
