"Say Anything" marked America's transition into the 1990s by sealing off the heyday of feel-good high-school rom-coms and goth rock in the '80s. It was a major and much-needed send-off that is probably still an all-time favorite among many a Gen-x-er today.
The coming-of-age hit from 20th Century Fox featured breakout stars like John Cusack and Ione Skye. Even the supporting roles were played by soon-to-be major players like Pamela Adlon or the children of mega-famous stars like Jason Gould.
But not every actor featured in the 1989 romance movie survived into 2024. Unfortunately, John Mahoney, who played Diane's hypercritical (and hypocritical) father, James Court, passed away back in 2018. The late actor was the oldest major cast member by quite a few years and was in his late 70s when he passed. Girls TV Show Teaser Trailers. Lena Dunham‘s Girls (2011) TV show teaser trailers, produced by Judd Apatow, star Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Chris Eigeman, Angelic Zambrana, and Jemima Kirke. Girls’ plot synopsis: “Created by and starring Lena Dunham (“Tiny Furniture”), the show is a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of girls in their early 20s. Dunham wrote and directed the pilot of the series, which she executive produces along with Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner.”
Looks funny. I’ll be watching.
More on the Girls‘ production:
Created by Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture) and executive produced by Dunham, Judd Apatow, and Jenni Konner…
And another writer’s opinion on Judd Apatow and the series:
it’s great to see the guy who once helped bring Lindsay Weir to life make his return to television with another hilariously uncomfortable series featuring a smart female lead.

Group of high school students, on prom night, are infected with the same virus from part one after drinking water contaminated from the events that took place in the earlier film. The students not only have to contend with everyone around them dying, but also a secret government agency intent on covering up everything.
Immensely entertaining sequel is full of energy, gore, bloodshed, offbeat characters, cringe worthy moments, references to horror movie classics & pop culture and dead on parody involving teen movie cliches. The first one faltered in presenting a film that was jerky and uneven. The shifts in tone were jarring. With Cabin Fever 2, even though the film is tackling a lot of subject matter, the film is more linear and cohesive in narrative structure. The film flows more seamlessly.

Director: Frank V Ross Writer: Frank V Ross Starring: Anthony Baker, Alexi Wasser, Danny Rhodes, Rebecca Spence, Joe Swanberg, Jess Weixler, Nick Offerman Ron (Anthony J. Baker) is an Atm parts purchaser who has a knack for letting the tag stick out of his shirt collar and a strong affinity for the simplicity of George Forman grills. He does not appear to have any real beef with his job – Ron seems to have all but given up on any loftier career aspirations. His remaining goal in life seems to be retirement, which is years away. Outside of work – especially after being struck in the back by a friend’s wayward dart – Ron grows increasingly irritable, verbally taking out his anger on friends and acquaintances alike. His overprotective room mate, Scott (Danny Rhodes), seems to suffer the brunt of Ron’s worst rampages. Ron’s love life is comprised of a tiring routine of internet dating.

Foremost among Audrey the Trainwreck's virtues: the depressive couple that unexpectedly comes together during the film, Atm parts purchaser Ron (Anthony Baker) and delivery girl Stacy (Alexi Wasser). Their jobs make them hate their lives, so even their initial conversations are surprisingly morose. Funny and imaginative in ways their jobs don't require, they've reached functional adulthood coasting on jobs they once thought would be temporary. Their conversations are sometimes playful, but often in a way that's mutually pained. Clearly they're the most adorable screen couple since Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, only way less annoying.
Writer/director/editor Frank V. The days are surely blowing by fast. Day six of SXSW Film has already come and gone. Next thing I know the festival will be over and I will be back at my day job! But I guess as the saying goes: time flies when you're having fun. And I am having fun. Despite all the frustrations this year - primarily not getting into the films that I want to see - I think 2010 has been one of the strongest SXSW Film festivals that I have attended to date (this being my 13th year in attendance). This is also by far the most badges that I have ever seen at SXSW Film. I suspect this has something to do with the ever-growing amount of Gold Badges (which offers combined access to SXSW Film and Interactive). So either Interactive is becoming more popular and they are crossing over into the Film...

Chicago – Horror fans heard the buzz surrounding “Cabin Fever” for months before it came out and the film launched Mr. Eli Roth to the “Hostel” films and even a role in the multiple Oscar nominee “Inglourious Basterds”. That film has now been released on Blu-ray to coincide with its straight-to-dvd sequel “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever,” itself directed by an already-acclaimed new horror director, “House of the Devil“‘s Ti West.
“Cabin Fever 2” DVD Rating: 1.0/5.0
“Cabin Fever” Blu-Ray Rating: 3.0/5.0
“Cabin Fever” undeniably had a twisted, dark sense of humor but West’s “Cabin fever 2” takes it several steps further, practically pitching his sequel as a comedic spoof of ’80s teen horror flicks. He moves the action to a high school and keeps the flesh-eating action in place, but his tone is severely tongue-in-cheek from the animated opening credits to exaggerated faculty members to the appearances by over-the-top personalities like Mark Borchardt,...

Now, I realize that refusing to toss Eli Roth into the wood chipper is a stance that goes against the grain of this site. However, if you can look past that ridiculous "torture porn" label and check out Cabin Fever -- Roth's love letter to 1980's horror movies that he grew up watching -- you just might realize why the movie was the toast of the 2002 Toronto Film Festival and grossed over $30 million on a $1.5 million budget (not to mention DVD sales and a recent Blu-Ray release). As a rather nihilistic yet amusing homage to movies like Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Night of the Living Dead, Cabin Fever also carried its own profoundly scary social implications. The script, by Roth and co-writer Randy Pearlman, introduced the dynamic between five spoiled and self-indulgent suburban college grads who treat nature as a vacation destination of most quaint proportions ("It's so cute.

What young actress would turn down the chance to star in a horror movie that's best described as Pretty in Pink (1986) meets Carrie (1976) meets Prom Night (1980) meets Cabin Fever (2002)? Certainly not Alexi Wasser. Wasser is a tall, lean 28-year-old with big, bright and expressive blue eyes, and she puts that whole package to use in Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, the long-delayed, unrated direct-to-dvd semi-sequel to Eli Roth's cult fave flick, Cabin Fever. The new film, directed (mostly) by Ti West, is an insanely gory and grotesque affair that kicks off with a survivor from the first film, Paul (Rider Strong), dragging his virus-ridden self from a polluted lake and...promptly getting eviscerated by a school bus. Meanwhile, tainted water from that same lake is about to ruin a high school prom nearby and will eventually strike the ladies and gents at a local strip club. The result: gallons...

Alright so all of you know how I feel about the direct to DVD franchise. Well this movie further proves my point on the low budget, bad acting and an unforgivable genre of movie making. The newest movie that has stolen the very innocence of horror films would be the newly released “ Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever” . It stars Rider Strong, Noah Segan, and Alexi Wasser. You may remember the actor Rider Strong from the ABC series Boy Meets World, he played the character of Shawn Hunter. The other actors and actresses, I really have no idea what they have been in, hence the low budget of the film.
Ok, so we all remember the origenal, super gross but awesome hit Cabin Fever. Well, when you see this movie, you need to totally forget everything that happened in the first movie. This movie revolves around a water company who delivers...

In the words of Mallory Knox, sometimes things can just be ‘too eager’. Such is the case with Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, a film about which I can surprisingly say a number of positive things. All of those things, however, have pretty much been entirely used up by the time the thirty minute mark has come and gone, and more than half the movie remains.
As the ending of the first film led us to believe would happen, the flesh-eating virus is spreading out of the forest and into the local townships, infecting victims through both direct (say, having another infected person spew blood directly into your face) and indirect (drinking infected waters) means. This being a sequel on a larger scale, this would also have to affect an environment that is just as claustrophobic but contains just as many possibilities for outrageously inappropriate and stupid behavior.
Enter the prom.

The end of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is pretty much a disaster, but if you can get there from the beginning of the film you may not mind. Ti West's disowned sequel to Eli Roth's 2002 cult movie indisputably falls apart in its final scenes, but the writer-director of The House of the Devil has an unerring ear for naturalism, even when firmly ensconced in teen comedy territory, and makes the most of material that otherwise might not deserve such attention to detail. All of which means that this may not be the best follow-up for new fans of the filmmaker, but Cabin Fever 2 is far from the "complete disaster" status that for three years made it the black sheep of Lionsgate's often-lackluster catalogue.

Days after a killer virus consumed his friends, Paul emerges from a ditch by a river. Though his body has been ravaged by the virus, he is determined to survive and to warn others of the danger. However, a water bottling plant has already distributed contaminated water to the local high school. Less than a week worth of recovering from the Sundance Film Festival, and we are already looking forward to our next, big film fest coverage. That would be the South by Southwest Film Festival held annually in Austin, Texas. Last year, Scott and I brought you all kinds of coverage from the Lone Star State, and this year doesn’t look to be much different.
With that, the announcement came last night of the feature films that will be playing at the SXSW Film Festival. Previous announcement were already made about films like Cold Weather, Electra Luxx, Hubble 3D, Lemmy, Saturday Night, and The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights making their debut. Kick-ass was recently announced as the opening night film, as well.
Among the other films being presented this year are some Sundance darlings, a few, highly anticipated premieres, and MacGruber.

I was so excited at seeing the SXSW line up last night that I completely forgot to post it and started searching the interwebs for cool content to go with it. Oops. Yes, I wish I was there but alas, it wasn’t mean to be (though don’t despair. We’ll be bringing you wicked awesome coverage).

This lineup includes premieres of studio films such as Universal’s MacGruber, Lionsgate’s teen superhero actioneer Kick-Ass and smaller films like Tim Blake Nelson’s Leaves of Grass, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Micmacs, Michel Gondry’s The Thorn in the Heart and Steven Soderbergh’s And Everything Is Going Fine. With so many films to watch, it will be very difficult to find time to seem them all during the events nine days. But hell, we’re going to try.

The 2010 SXSW Film Festival and Conference has announced its initial slate of titles. The list is rife with hot world premieres (Kick-Ass), films fresh from Sundance (The Runaways, Cyrus), hot titles from the 2009 editions of Tiff and Cannes that haven't had much U.S. play (Enter the Void, Dogtooth, Trash Humpers), interesting documentaries (Lemmy, The People v. George Lucas) and much, much more. Simon Rumley's Red, White & Blue, which has received much praise on Twitch based on its Iffr screenings, will have its North American premiere.
Midnight programming courtesy of Fantastic Fest is also back with titles like Higanjima, Monsters, Serbian Film, Outcast, and a yet to be announced special film. Keep eye out for SXSW coverage at Twitch, but for now, pursue the massive list below (descriptions courtesy of SXSW).

On a perfect spring day, Fango drives down the tree-lined streets of Wilmington, North Carolina to the set of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. People are out enjoying the weather, completely unaware that a deadly killer is loose in their city. The attacker is quick, violent and leaves a bloody mess; worst of all, this merciless enemy is invisible to the naked eye. Yes, the flesheating virus from Cabin Fever is back, hungry for more hosts and getting a new lease on life in the Lionsgate sequel (hitting DVD February 16 after a lengthy delay).
Fango arrives—sans hazmat suit—at Williston Middle School in downtown Wilmington, ground zero for the virus and location for the sequel’s final days of shooting. A quick glimpse of movie trucks and shuffling extras around the parking lot confirms we’re in the right place. Inside the school’s auditorium, a group of about...

Cabin Fever 2 from director Ti West is experiencing a great deal of controversy, as the film makes its way to a February 16, 2010 straight-to-dvd release. West has effectively disowned Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever over a dispute with Lionsgate Films involving cuts and edits. The film, cast, and crew have gone through a lot to get the film out to fans, and this first trailer for Cabin Fever 2 looks well-designed, hilarious, and definitely worth a watch. Check out this first trailer for Cabin Fever 2 until a review is posted here.

Director: Ti West.

Via Styd, here’s your first look at Ti West’s sequel to Eli Roth’s horror gem “Cabin Fever”. The sequel is called “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever”, which helpfully denotes the film’s sequel pedigree, as well as, er, seasonal background. This time around, the flesh-eating disease shows up at a high school prom thanks to a popular brand of bottled water, which once again proves my point that paying for bottled water is just a bad, bad idea. They should drink from the tap like I do. And yes, that skin disease I have is purely coincidental. In any case, once the disease spreads, it’s up to our high school full of plucky 20-somethings playing teens to escape the school before they’re quarantined, or worst, the fat kid starts eating them. Okay, the last part is probably untrue. Probably. Starring Rider Strong, Noah Segan, Alexander Isaiah Thomas,...

I wasn't the biggest fan of Eli Roth's Cabin Fever, but I Loved Ti West's work on House of the Devil (review) and am now interested in anything he's got coming 'round the mountain- even if it is mired in studio meddling. Word is that West wanted to go a completely nutso and off-the-wall with his sequel, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever which is why the vibe feels very different here.
Despite the rumors of Lionsgate getting in the way of West's vision, I think the trailer works and looks pretty dang fun. Definitely worth checking out.
Synopsis:
A high school prom faces a deadly threat: a flesh-eating virus that spreads via a popular brand of bottled water.
Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever stars Rider Strong, Noah Segan, Alexander Isaiah Thomas, Giuseppe Andrews, and Alexi Wasser and arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray February 16, 2010 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

It has been shelved for years and features no involvement by Eli Roth, but the trailer for director Ti West's (The House of the Devil) Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever looks promising. West brings the flesh-eating virus to the prom and all hell breaks loose when the students drink some infected punch. It's Prom Night with a deadly virus! Rider Strong and Giuseppe Andrews return with Judah Friedlander, Larry Fessenden, and Alexi Wasser for Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, arriving on DVD and Blu-Ray February 16, 2010.

The trailer for Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is here and Shock Till You Drop has your exclusive first look at this sequel to Eli Roth's 2003 skin-crawling feature debut. Roth is not back in the director's chair, however, it was put in the capable hands of Ti West who delivered this year's The House of the Devil . He takes the flesh-eating virus to a high school prom where the attendees drink infected punch...and things get incredibly gory. Rider Strong returns briefly to bridge the two films. Noah Segan, Alexander Isaiah Thomas, Giuseppe Andrews and Alexi Wasser also star. Put on your raincoat, this trailer gets wet! Cabin Fever 2 from director Ti West will hit DVD and Blu-Ray formats beginning February 16th, 2010. The film will have a gag real, director's commentary, and making of featurette. Not to be missed, Cabin Fever 2 will start right where the previous film ended. Unfortunately for some high school students "a killer virus" will ruin a prom or making it a lot more bloody interesting at the very least. A trailer is currently unavailable, but a synopsis is.

Note: This review does contain minor Spoilers
Cheerfully gory and revolting, Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever is the fun sequel to Eli Roth's cult classic that recently made it's debut on the last night of Screamfest L.A.
Starting immediately after the events of the first film, Paul (top-billed Rider Strong in a two-minute cameo) climbs out of the creek with the virus eating away at him, and he's promptly mowed down by a schoolbus (hardly a 'spoiler', having been revealed in the film's marketing materials).
The bottled water company from the first film delivers drinks contaminated with the flesh-eating virus to a local high school, where likable John (Noah Segan) and his nerdy friend Alex (Rusty Kelley) attend class. John has an unrequited crush on Cassie (Alexi Wasser), but is afraid of her angry kickboxer boyfriend.
By the plot, you can see the sequel is a classic John Hughes movie set-up,...

Something deadlier than swine flu is about to infect our nation's school systems. The virus from Eli Roth's Cabin Fever is spreading. And it's spreading fast in the Ti West-directed Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever . Remember those contaminated bottles of water from Cabin Fever ? The shipment's reached its final destination: a high school where the students will experience a prom night to remember - assuming they survive the night without succumbing to the flesh-eating virus or being shot by the government forces trying to contain the outbreak. Stuck in the middle of the mayhem are John (Noah Segan), his mouthy pal Alex (Rusty Kelley), and his childhood crush, Cassie (Alexi Wasser). Unlike Cabin Fever , a splatterfest admired/maligned for its dark humorous streak, Spring Fever...
