1091 Pictures has picked up North American distribution rights to Tar, and indie thriller that it plans on releasing with exclusive theatrical run targeting drive-in theaters starting in early October followed by a digital rollout October 20. Timothy Bottoms, Aaron Wolf, Tiffany Shepis, Max Perlich and Graham Greene star. Wolf directed the film, set in the murky depths of Los Angeles’ world-famous La Brea Tar Pits wherein lies an ancient secret – a creature that, awakened by subway construction, emerges to terrorize its unsuspecting victims in a desperate fight for survival. Howling Wolf Productions partners Aaron Wolf and Tim Nuttall wrote the screenplay and produced. The deal was negotiated by 1091 Pictures’ Emma Manfredi and Sam Curphey for the filmmaker.

To debut on August 21st, this feature follows two homicide detectives as they investigate a strange case. Testing both of their beliefs, this scenario brings the Devil forefront and onto the screen. In the story, a Deputy vanishes without a trace while responding to a burglary call. Private Investigator Jim Knowles is a retired Homicide Detective and Mike Gaston is a retired Theology Professor, who specialize in cases that deal with the dark side of evil. Both men are requested to lend their assistance to this small-town police force in rural New Jersey. Knowles, a non-believer in both God and Satan, is convinced that people who commit a crime and use the Devil as an excuse are merely using an insanity defence. Red Letters is an upcoming horror film from director Jim Klock (Murder Eleven). This title, along with two others, will be distributed by Terror Films, in 2019 and beyond. Red Letters is a classic good vs evil thriller. In the film, two investigators embark on a dangerous assignment, which leads them into the hands of darkness. Massacre on Aisle 12 is a new, horror comedy, from director Jim Klock ("Scream Queens"). The film takes place at closing time, inside a hardware store. Several employees discover a bag of cash and a body! Now, they must decide what to do with all of this money. The film stars: Chad Ridgely (Murder Eleven), Mike Capozzi and Michael Buonomo. A teaser trailer for the film is here. The teaser clip shows many of the employees, in chaos. One employee is injured and the others become murderous. Meanwhile, the survivors will have to decide how to divvy up the cash. Massacre on Aisle 12 will have its World Premiere in November. The film will show at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival. On November 4th, the film will play before audiences. A wider release, for the film, will be announced soon. Release Date: November 4th, 2016 (Limited Theatrical). Cast: Jeremiah Benjamin, Mike Capozzi, Nick Fink, Patrick Giraudi and Samantha Lee. Trace is an indie film from Terror Films and first time feature director Ryan Brookhart. The film deals with the supernatural and a demon, who likes to devour the many alcoholic characters. It uses electronic devices to make its presence known. At the one hour mark, Abigor (Patrick Giraudi) finally confronts the characters, on whom it wants to add to its murder list. Trace is a well paced feature, with a decent story. Though, Abigor needed to create a more physical presence. Few people believe in the supernatural, nowadays and this summoned demon needed to step out of hell into the real world, a little more. Adapting any works of Edgar Allan Poe into a film isn't easy. That hasn't stopped filmmakers from trying, however, and as the production of Her Heart Still Beats comes to a close, we'll see if the cast and crew of Creepy Kid Productions have succeeded where so many others have not.
