Formed in Sacramento, California, in 1994, Mama's Gravy was founded by
Ken Rudulph,Vince Mellone,Joel McDonell
and Chris Jackson. Over the
years the band included the musical talents
of,John Mullick, Eddie Jorgensen, Jeff
Dyer, Matt McKinnon, Jeremy White, Slade Anderson and Adam Parsley. The
band distinguished itself on the Northern California scene with its
unique fusion of funk, rock, soul and classic rhythm and blues, drawing
its influences from Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes, Fishbone, Jimi
Hendrix's Band of Gypsies and Funkadelic.
'Mama's Gravy' catalog includes its 1997
critically acclaimed debut CD, "Cigarettes & Soulfood," followed by
"From the Root to the Fruit" in 1998, "Attack of the 3-Headed Funkazoid
FreakloveMonster" in 2001 and "Return of the Funkazoid" in 2005.
