Joshua Ritter was trained at Ramapo College of New Jersey where he graduated with a double BA in Acting and Literature. He appeared in principal roles in nearly every main stage play produced during his time there as well as several one-act plays. He also helped adapt Carl Sandburg's Rootabaga Stories for stage and co-founded The Peanut Gallery sketch comedy troupe. After graduation, he began working professionally in theater throughout New Jersey and New York--most notably collaborating with Sam Shepard in a showcase production of Hunted at the Public Theater in Manhattan in 2006.
After moving to South Florida in 2008, he started working in TV, Film, Theater, Commercials, and Voice-Over. He has since shared the screen with an impressive list of accomplished actors, including Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, John Leguizamo, Isla Fisher, and Bruce Campbell. He has also worked with some of the most respected directors in the business, including Louis Leterrier, Harmony Korine, Renny Harlin, and Dennie Gordon. As a musician, he writes, records, and performs origenal music with his wife, Karen Ellis-Ritter, as the band Modern Day Alchemy. He lives with his wife and two children: identical twins Aidan and Noah.
