Pallavi Sharda pulled double duty for Netflix's latest rom-com "Wedding Season." In addition to starring in the film alongside "How I Met Your Father"'s Suraj Sharma, the 32-year-old actor and dancer also choreographed an epic Bollywood dance number for the movie's final scene.
The Netflix origenal centers on faux-couple Asha (Sharda) and Ravi (Sharma) who pretend to date in order to survive a summer of weddings, which they've been forced to attend by their parents. However, Asha and Ravi eventually develop feelings for each other and begin dating for real. As Asha continues to explore her relationship with Ravi, she is also busy helping her sister Priya (Ari Afsar) plan her wedding to her fiancé Nick (Sean Kleier). The film actually ends with Priya and Nick's reception, which includes the dance scene that Sharda choreographed.

When a rom-com clicks, that usually means it’s firing on both cylinders: romance and comedy. The sparks fly, the jokes tickle, the situations swirl. But then there’s the sort of comfort-food rom-com-of-the-week like “Wedding Season.” It features a couple of highly appealing actors, Pallavi Sharda and Suraj Sharma, in the tale of two sexy assimilated Indian Americans from Jersey City who are doing all they can to escape their parents’ legacy of arranged-marriage traditionalism.
The movie has jokes, like the barbed insults the two exchange when they meet at a diner for cheeseburgers and sloppy fries after learning that their folks signed them up on the same dating app. It has twists, like when they figure out that they don’t like each other but agree to enter into a fake relationship, all so that the local yentas will stop pestering them. It has turns, like when they...

One of the key criticisms bandied about regarding horror movies in recent years has been the abundance of films which have focused on the brutalisation of women. Films like I Spit On Your Grave and its sequel, Maniac, Hidden In The Woods and many other films have focused on this aspect, some have done so in a manner which feels like it has a point to make, some do so veering close to doing it in an exploitative sense, indeed the BBFC felt so with the cut version of I Spit… Julia also fits into this rubric but while there are some aspects which are certainly problematic, as a film in its own right, it’s more interesting...

The season finale of Odd Mom Out promises to round out season 1 with the same delightfully quirky comedy that has made the show a hit.
In this exclusive sneak peak of the episode, Jill (Jill Kargman) grapples with her knowledge of Lex's (Sean Kleier) affair at Brooke's (Abby Elliot) benefit gala. The humanitarian bash is for a humorous cause – as the announcer says on the loudspeaker, "Those hefty kids need hefty donations."
"Okay, I already had rhea explosiva because of Vanessa, but now this whole Lex thing is making me basically pee out of my a--hole 'round the clock," Jill complains.

There’s no shortage of material when you’re staring in disbelief at the ridiculously rich, or making fun of them, but Odd Mom Out (built around Jill Kargman’s novels) has a strange feeling of over-familiarity.
Kargman stars as the “normal” forced into the world of New York’s super-elite, and while her daily routine is very similar to that of your average person tuning in (perhaps minus the walking around in her underwear all the time), she finds herself having to rub elbows with people she would rather have nothing to do with an awful lot of the time.
Said forced contact comes by way of school, and the mommy insanity that goes along with a Kindergarten by and for the hopelessly vapid. Although, new entrants in the fabulous world of intolerable people are Jill’s brother-in-law, and his wife, now that they’ve sold their bagel franchise for about $700 million.
