Not all were murderers ... something Hollywood might want to remember. But that's a different story. We have a movie here based on the experiences of Michael Degen and his mothers. Being Jewish during the time the Nazis were in power in Germany was not easy. While as the title says not everyone was evil, the sentiment could be: how do I know which is which? And even if they are not murderers, might they call the Nazis and tell on me? Either for the reward or because they thought they'd do the right thing.
Obviously in hindsight we know it wasn't or wouldn't be the right thing. The question is how much did certain individuals know and wanted to know about what was actually happening? But this is interested in the struggles and the tension and how our main characters try to survive ... which isn't easy to begin with ... an interesting movie, very well told
