Murder 2 is a psychological thriller film and the second installment in the Murder film series. The film is directed by Mohit Suri. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Prashant Narayanan, Sulagna Panigrahi and Sudhanshu Pandey.
A Corrupt ex-police officer, is hired to trace missing sex workers. When a young prostitute, recruited to entice the abductor goes missing he races to find her before it's too late.
The best part of the Bhatt camp is that they will make a film by copying it from some foreign language film and if it's works then they will start a franchise and will copy from some other film and will claim it their own piece of work be it Angarey, Footpath, Murder, Aashiqi 2 and so on.
Bhatt camp with the same formulae which they used in the previous film Murder. Hire serial kisser Emraan Hashmi, hire an eye candy just to kiss and dance with Hashmi with no substantial role of her own. Hire a director who is famous for making such films, copy from some foreign language film for instance Korean film The Chaser in this case and showcase this in front of viewers claiming their own work with the only best part about the film is always the music of the film.
Plot of the film is lifted from a Korean film but unnecessary romance has been added to this film just to make the film bold and attract viewers. Execution of the film is terrible and despite of being a thriller film the screenplay gets too slow and lot's of time gets wasted in showing the romance between the two leads which could've been utilized in crafting the characters to make the film look more effective.
Acting is average with Emraan Hashmi tries his best to act and he impresses. Prashant Narayanan is the surprise package and it's so sad that he has not been utilized properly. The makers should've focused more on developing his character which could've made the film look much more effective. Jacqueline was in the film to add glamour. Sulagna Panigrahi is talented but looked average in this film and Sudhanshu Pandey is wasted.
Climax of the film is good and could've been more better. There are some stereotypical non sense which had been doing round in Hindi film circuit from a very long time which is why every character be it of any religion will go to only Church if the film is been shot in Goa and they will only be buried despite of any religion they are from.
Nevertheless a terrible film but can be watched only for power packed acting by Prashant Narayanan.
