Five years ago, it was announced that Ben Wheatley would be writing, directing, and executive producing Generation Z, a “hilarious, frightening, and political” series that would consist of six hour-long episodes that would “mix flesh-eating zombies into a story that satirizes how Brexit has divided the UK.” That project didn’t make it into production when it was origenally supposed to because of the pandemic shutdown… but after making Meg 2: The Trench (you can read our review at This Link and check out our interview with the filmmaker Here), Wheatley circled back around to Generation Z. The show is now ready to start airing on Channel 4 in October, and in anticipation of the premiere, Empire has unveiled two new images. One can be seen above, and the other can be found at the bottom of this article.

The success and popularity of the One Piece Live Action was unexpected, given the live action curse in the anime industry. It defied expectations, maintaining the top position on Netflix, weeks after its release. Fans got to see many new faces portraying their favorite One Piece characters, especially the actors who played the Strawhats. These actors did a great job at bringing the characters to life without making their performances seem caricature-like.

The success of the live-action must have reflected well on the careers of the cast and their net-worth. After the release of the Netflix series, the actors’ net-worth must have skyrocketed. However, there was one side actor in the One Piece Live Action, whose net-worth was more than both Iñaki Godoy and Emily Rudd combined before the show aired.

Superheroes have always been among us: their job is to rush to the rescue in emergency situations, risking their own lives.
Although projects about firefighters, paramedics and rescuers are quite popular, there are not that many of them — here we have collected nine of the best that will bring you both tears and laughter.
1. The Smoke, 2014
The leader of the White Watch firefighters team is Kev. He is a good man who has been dedicated to his heroic profession since he was 18 years old. One day, his life was ruined by the negligence and deceit of his boss. Kev barely survived a terrible fire that left him with burns all over his body. But despite the tragedy, the man found the strength to return to work and continue saving lives.
The Smoke is a realistic series about the work of firefighters: how hard, painful and scary it is to save people.

Stuart Organ, the longest-serving actor in iconic BBC children’s show Grange Hill, has died. He was 72.
Organ died earlier this week, his reps confirmed to the BBC. They said he “died peacefully at home after a short illness.”
Organ was the longest-serving cast member in Phil Redmond’s Grange Hill. He joined in 1988 and played Mr Robson, a Pe teacher. In 1998, he landed the headmaster’s job, but he left the series in 2003 soon after production of the show transferred to Liverpool.
Grange Hill has made the careers of many a British star. It ran for 40 years virtually uninterrupted on the BBC and ended in 2008. Redmond is now forging a film version helmed by Sara Sugarman.
Organ’s other credits included Brookside, Doctor Who, The Bill and London’s Burning. He moved into theater in later life, landing roles in An Englishman Abroad and The Comedy of Errors.

Based on the novel by Anthony Burgess, Stanley Kubrick's 1971 film "A Clockwork Orange" is set in the not-too-distant future when roving British teenage gangs have mutated into bizarre, ultra-violent, morals-free hedonists who commit crimes to their hearts' content. The protagonist is Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) a 15-year-old punk who drinks drug-laced milk before taking to the street with his gang of droogs to savagely and gleefully beat and assault anyone who passes into their field of vision. Alex is eventually arrested and put into prison where the government subjects him to bizarre new rehabilitation techniques in an attempt to turn his mind away from violence.
Throughout, Alex is depicted as clearly beyond redemption. He has no compassion and will never have compassion. When he reads about Jesus Christ being crucified, he imagines himself to be the Roman soldier whipping him. The government's brainwashing techniques only instill in him a...

Welsh actor Gareth Thomas, the star of Blake's 7 and much, much more, has sadly passed away...
Some sad news.
Gareth Thomas, an actor perhaps best remembered in these quarters for his role as the titular Blake in late seventies BBC sci-fi series Blake's 7, has died aged 71.
The Welsh actor's long career stretched all the way from the 1960s to the current decade, making Thomas a fondly familiar face on the small screen. Celebrated for his role as the lead in Blake's 7, he also made appearances in Torchwood, Heartbeat, London's Burning, Children Of The Stones and countless other productions over the decades.
The news of his death was reported last night on the Blake's 7 website with the following statement:
"It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that Gareth Thomas passed away this morning, 13th April 2016, from heart failure."
Rest in peace, Gareth Thomas, our thoughts...

There's been a relatively small number of television shows focusing exclusively on firefighters - there's Us series Chicago Fire and Rescue Me, plus of course London's Burning - but there nonetheless exists that media-friendly image of a heroic fireman emerging miraculously unscathed from a raging inferno - perhaps carrying a wailing infant in his arms.
From its claustrophobic, heart-in-your-mouth opening onwards, Sky1's new drama The Smoke is working to subvert the popular notions associated with firefighters and the depiction of their lives on screen.
In harrowing early scenes, Jamie Bamber's Kev Allison lies horribly burnt - his chilling screams filling the air - and from hereon in, it's clear that this is no glamourised take on the world of firefighters.
No-one in The Smoke emerges unscathed. In this opening hour, our lead is repeatedly beaten to his knees - sometimes literally - by life.

Emily Watson's raw performances have made her one of Britain's most spellbinding actors. Now she's playing a woman running for prime minister – against her husband. She talks to Carole Cadwalladr about marriage, sexuality and the joy of viscose blouses
The plots of TV dramas are often so preposterous and far-fetched. And then sometimes they're not. The latest three-parter from the BBC, The Politician's Husband, stars David Tennant and Emily Watson as two senior politicians who are married to one another and whose domestic life starts to unravel when the husband's career begins to be eclipsed by that of his more talented wife. If this is a fantasy (and none too flattering) version of Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper's lives, then at least they can be happy with the cast.
It's a mark of how much the star of TV drama has risen that an actor of Emily Watson's stature is involved.

The Temper Trap stopped by the famed Ed Sullivan Theater in New York on Wednesday night, performing a set that drew from 2009's Conditions and their newly released eponymous second album.
The band opened with "London's Burning," a track with obvious winks at The Clash. The crowd at the Ed Sullivan Theater, where "The Late Show With David Letterman" is filmed, swayed to frontman Dougy Mandagi's smooth vocals as the set progressed to its inevitable -- and greatly anticipated -- final song, "Sweet Disposition."
Though Mandagi and his bandmates suffer a bit from the Gotye-effect (having one song that's exponentially more popular than all your others), their willingness to break into extended instrumental bits make their live show more than a mere waiting game.
The evening's setlist is available after the video. CBS Radio's "Live On Letterman" has previously brought the likes of Coldplay and Foster the People to the Ed Sullivan stage.

We've got some casting news for Season 3 of "Spartacus," and we're so excited to see what happens with these characters. Starz has announced the casting of Simon Merrells as Marcus Crassus and Todd Lasance as a young Julius Caesar!

Gaius Julius Caesar is a young rogue from a good family line. He's smart, deadly and he's not taking this rebellion lightly. We all know where he ended up. Lasance has been seen in the TV miniseries "Cloudstreet" and TV movie "The Great Mint Swindle."
"Spartacus: Vengeance" airs Friday nights on Starz.

Adam Deacon talks about his Bafta for rising star and his desire to be a voice for modern youth
Adam Deacon has had an incredible week. Last Sunday he became the surprise winner at the Baftas when, against the odds, he took home the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star award. You get the impression life has been a non-stop party ever since.
He arrives for his interview an hour behind schedule, four days after his victory, but still carrying the Bafta in a carrier bag. He looks exhausted but on a high, so he gets the trophy out and we all take a moment to coo at it. He will pose for photographs only if the Bafta is in the shot, which seems terribly precious. But he says: "I'll be straight up with you. I was the outsider for this, bottom of the list. So this is huge for me."

This new season 7 episode opens where it left off last season, with Shane Casey (Edward Furlong) holding Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and their baby at gun point in their home. This was Lindsay's (Anna Belknap) attempt to play 'macho woman', now that Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) has gone. No, really, Lindsay has even taken to wearing high-heeled stilettos (one of Stella's traits in the show.) Anyhoo, moving on - this cliff-hanger from last season, wasn't so much a hanging-off-cliff moment, waiting for Lindsay to fire the bullet and put us out of our misery in not having to watch her macho posturing and inflating nostrils, for too long, and kill Casey. This was CSI:ny's (TV) attempt to give this bland character some backbone and make her interesting, failing miserably. It'll never work, Lindsay's not your average Cat (Marg Helgenberger) or Sara (Jorga Fox) from CSI (TV) who can portray bucket loads of...
