After Chor Machaye Shor music composer Ravindra Jain followed it with Fakira also one of his major earlier film with good songs and music and became popular and memorable. This film is one of Ravindra Jain's good work.

The producer called Vijay Arora's house to sign him for the film. His sister answered the phone and informed them that Vijay was out of town. She failed to pass the message to Vijay Arora and Shashi Kapoor was signed.

Danny Denzongpa was worried when he signed the film . The role was for him to be the brother of Shashi Kapoor. Danny expressed his concern that the audience would not accept and believe he could be Shashi Kapoor's brother due to his Nepali appearance. The director assured Danny that the Indian film audience had accepted and loved Danny as their own. Once they saw the film and liked it, they would have no problem accepting him as Shashi Kapoor's brother. The director was proven right. In the climax the audience was seen crying and clapping when Danny reunites with his brother.
