Will Lyman; most famously known as the voice of PBS' Frontline series.
It's possible that the daughter has given her information to suspect infidelity. However, it's also possible that the reason might just be that Sarah offended the sitter by repeatedly offering her money/renumeration for her services, when the sitter clearly enjoyed the time spent with the little girl and felt that was reward enough. Earlier in the film the sitter expresses great joy at being in the presence of the little girl - bringing her unexpected gifts, for example. Sarah was bewildered by these gestures, as she was unable to enjoy time alone with her daughter (feeling resentment, isolation and a feeling of unfulfillment) - calling her an "unknowable little person (or creature)". It seems that the sitter was grieved at the revelation that Sarah could not seem to understand that someone would actually "enjoy" spending time with such a "delightful, wonderful" little girl ... perhaps even feeling that Sarah was a bad mother ... and moreso that the sitter seemed lonely and slightly envious of being able to spend time with such a lovely little girl.
One of the central tenets of the film is the human emotion of dissatisfaction with one's own life and feeling envious of the situations (and seeming "blessings") of others. A 'grass is always greener' phenomenon. Except, the filmmakers are giving us a 'peek' into the real lives of these people - exposing the despair, unhappiness, trials and tribulations - and their own desire to escape seemingly "miserable" lives (no matter how "happy" or "perfect" they seem on the outside).

In the novel, Kathy determines that it's a colour only a child would choose; a child, or someone who is head over heels in love. She realizes with a great degree of certainty that Sarah and Brad are having an affair.
The note that Ronnie receives from his mother towards the end of the film says "Please be a good boy"
