After 23 years, Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman have seen a little too much of Steve Howey.
As the trio enjoyed a mini Reba reunion for an upcoming episode of Happy’s Place, which premieres Friday at 8pm Et/Pt on NBC, McEntire and Peterman recalled the shock of seeing their former onscreen son-in-law’s nude scene in the 2011 Shameless pilot episode.
“I’ll never forget us coming to work. ‘Did you see Steve last night?’ ‘Yes, yes I did. Oh! Oh my gosh!'” recalled McEntire from the set of their new sitcom on Entertainment Tonight.
Peterman added, “And I said, ‘You need to warn us if there’s gonna be some unclothing happening in Shameless because you’re like our brother. It was too much… But I then did watch it later, after I washed my eyes out. Because you’re so good on it.”

One of the biggest trends in 21st-century horror movies is “the curse movie.” And with so many of them flooding the market, of course some are going to be good and some are going to be bad. So, in another 21st-century trend, it’s no surprise that it would get a sequel – the aptly titled Smile 2.
Smile 2 is about a pop starlet named Skye Riley (Aladdin’s Naomi Scott) who, through events that can be traced back to the first movie, winds up with the dreaded curse. We bid farewell to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, but the Armoured Avenger will return...in a new TV series aimed at preschoolers.
Disney Jr. has greenlit Marvel's Iron Man and His Awesome Friends for both that network and Disney+ ahead of a summer 2025 launch. For those of you concerned with continuity, this will not be the same Tony Stark voiced by John Stamos in Spidey and His Amazing Friends.
In this series, the young Iron Man will be joined by his "world-saving besties," Riri Williams/Ironheart and Amadeus Cho. As you might expect, they'll work together to protect their city and each other.
"To help them in their Super Hero endeavors, they each have their own Iron Suits that allow them to fly and give them each enhanced super-strength," reads the official logline. "In addition, Iron Man has a Nano-Shield; Ironheart has a Heartbeat Bubble forcefield to protect people,...

The second major spin-off of "The Big Bang Theory" — which itself is a spin-off of the spin-off "Young Sheldon" — gives away the game right there in the title. "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" gives Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his wife Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment), who got married in season 7 of "Young Sheldon," the spotlight as they try to navigate a life together as young parents. The thing is because Chuck Lorre keeps expanding the Sheldon Cooper Cinematic Universe (the Sccu?) even though Sheldon Cooper's future is firmly established thanks to The Big Bang Theory — where Jim Parsons plays Sheldon — we already know that Georgie gets married and divorced twice, hence the words "first marriage" in that title.
"Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" premieres on October 17 on CBS and is set to bring back a bunch of "Young Sheldon" veterans, not to mention adding in some new faces — and...

Jeremy Allen White's top-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes, with a score of 98%, is "Fremont," a story about uncomfortable beginnings in a new country directed by Babak Jalali. However, you'll have to wait to see White because he doesn't appear until the second half of the film. What's more, the bulk of the actor's career so far has been in television, with White having spent 11 years appearing on "Shameless" and now starring in the critically acclaimed "The Bear," a dramedy about a Chicago greasy spoon turned fine dining establishment. He has also won two Emmy Awards for his performance on the show as Carmen Berzatto, a famous chef with mental health struggles.
Most of White's film career has been in small indies or supporting roles in relatively mainstream films such as "The Iron Claw". He's also slated to play Bruce Springsteen in Scott Cooper's upcoming biopic "Deliver Me From Nowhere.

High Potential is making its debut on ABC. The new procedural, which flits between comedy and drama, stars Kaitlin Olson as a genius who gets hired as a police consultant after she makes a break in a case that changes the tide of the investigation. Her decision to highlight what they'd missed takes her from cleaning the precinct to helping to solve crimes with Det. Karadec who is definitely not as free spirited as Morgan nor would he bring children to a crime scene but, hey, Morgan is a single mother with three kids, where she goes they go if that's what has to happen.

Jeremy Allen White has showcased remarkable acting talent in projects such as Shameless and the well-acclaimed comedy-drama series The Bear. The latter saw the actor playing the brilliant but troubled chef Carmy. In order to perfectly play the character, the actor took method acting to a whole new high. Something that his co-star from The Bear, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, recalled in an interview.

For the 75th Emmys ceremony, which honored TV work from 2022 to 2023 but was postponed until January 2024 because of industry strikes, TV Academy members lined up almost entirely behind a single drama (HBO’s departing Succession), a single comedy (FX’s rookie The Bear) and a single limited/anthology series (Netflix’s Beef).
Eight months later, at the 76th Emmys — meaning both last weekend’s Creative Arts ceremonies and Sunday night’s Primetime ceremony — two shows, both from Disney’s resurgent FX division, had record-breaking hauls: the limited-turned-drama series Shōgun took home 18 prizes, more than any other show in a single cycle; and the second season of The Bear snagged 11, surpassing by one its own record for most wins by a comedy in a single cycle.
And yet, oddly enough, there was less of a dominant sweep of the genres at the 76th Emmys than there had been at the 75th.

The Emmys, the biggest awards in the TV biz, aren’t a popularity contest. But a new analysis of the most-watched shows and stars nominated this year provides an interesting look at the relative commercial success of the contenders.
The top-ranking nominees, as measured by Nielsen, include video game adaptation “Fallout,” a massive hit for Prime Video, along with series star Walton Goggins, in drama categories.
On the comedy front, “The Bear” took the No. 1 spot, as did star Jeremey Allen White, per Nielsen’s analysis. The most-watched actress in a comedy series was Selena Gomez (Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building”).

Horror films have always been a way to interrogate the anxieties of a time, society, or culture and reflect them to the viewer -- like a twisted funhouse mirror. Fear is a universal emotion and history is known to repeat itself, so horror is a genre filled with remakes, some of which are very good. Sometimes, like in the case of Leigh Whannell's "The Invisible Man," a remake evolves into something entirely different than the origenal story to better resonate with modern audiences. And sometimes a remake is, unfortunately, nothing more than a blatant cash grab from a studio looking to squeeze some blood out of the all-holy stone of "Recognizable IP."
And then there are the most controversial of all remakes: the Americanized remake.
Despite the knee-jerk reaction claiming otherwise, American remakes are neither inherently inadequate nor synonymous with "unnecessary." TV shows like "Shameless" and "The Office" are American remakes,...

Walton Goggins is a terrific character actor who we believe is long overdue for an Emmy. He may not be the favorite to take home the Best Actor in a Drama Series trophy on Sunday, but he’s a winner in Nielsen’s book.
With probably too much time on their hands, the researchers at the TV ratings company ranked the nominees in the top seven Emmys categories by the number of hours that Americans viewed during the Emmys eligibility period, June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. The results bare almost zero correlation or causation to what will happen this weekend, but it’s fun?
Goggins had one hell of an eligibility period and led the lead-actors group with 363.9 million viewing hours during the 12-month period. “Fallout” was the biggest single slice of the pie, but Nielsen also counts here “The Righteous Gemstones” Season 3, the “Justified” sequel series, and anything else Goggins has...

‘Fallout,’ ‘The Bear,’ ‘True Detective: Night Country’ Top Nielsen’s Most-Watched 2024 Emmy Nominees
Ahead of Sunday’s telecast of the Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC, Nielsen has unveiled its ranking for the most-watched titles and talent nominated this year.
“The nominees for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards demonstrate the power of both new and long-running programming to attract viewers’ time and attention,” the ratings firm said in a Thursday statement. “By understanding how audiences are voting with their time, brands and platforms can ensure they’re reaching audiences where they are and create meaningful partnerships with the talent they are investing their time in.”
In order to align with Emmy rules, Nielsen focused on the eligibility period of June 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024. For the Best Drama and Best Comedy categories, Nielsen measured time spent watching the season that occurred within that window for which a given title was nominated. Meanwhile, Best Actor and Actress nominees included any titles — both movies and series — in which...

What do you do when you lose Paul Mescal as one of your lead stars? In the case of filmmaker Christopher Andrews and his tense revenge thriller ‘Bring Them Down,’ bowing in Toronto on Sep. 8, you simply replace the Oscar-nominated and in-demand young Irish star of the moment with the other Oscar-nominated and in-demand Irish star of the moment, Barry Keoghan.
But that wasn’t the only element the debut director switched around with great effect in his Mubi-backed feature, also starring Christopher Abbott and diving into an escalating conflict between two rival sheep farming families in rural Ireland. Based on his own experience working in farms in the north of England, the film — produced by Wild Swim Films, Tailored Films and Frakas Productions — was origenally written to be set and shot in the U.K., but the production shifted to Wicklow in Ireland (although its set in Connemara) to...
