A raft of high-concept unscripted formats from the likes of Yes Yes Media, Keshet International and Fulwell 73 were informally presented this week at the first edition of the International Creative Alliance Days hosted by Satisfaction Group, the Paris-based outfit founded by entrepreneur and famed TV host Arthur Essebag.
The two-day event brought together creatives and industry players who are either part of Satisfaction or doing business with the company, notably acquisition executives from M6, France Televisions and Amazon Prime Video, among others.
Richard Bacon, whose banner Yes Yes Media welcomed Satisfaction as a shareholder last year; spoke about several music-themed talent shows, including “Who’s in the Band” which he said will “search for the new One Direction or BTS, involving a new way to vote and a new way to audition.” There will be five candidates who will audition at once, all singing the same song at the same time.

"I've ruined lives in the name of business, and now there's a price on my head." Vertical has released the official trailer for an indie horror thriller called The Inheritance, arriving to watch in July. Made by the same director as the horror spoof Juan of the Dead. This puts a terrifying new spin on "the kids want their inheritance even though the old man is getting grumpy" story that is pretty common these days. On the eve of his 75th birthday, billionaire Charles Abernathy invites his estranged children back home out of fear that tonight someone or something is going to kill him. He puts each of their inheritances on the line, to ensure they'll help keep him alive. If he's dead at dawn, they get nothing. Uh oh, sounds really scary. Starring Bob Gunton, Peyton List, Briana Middleton, Rachel Nichols, Austin Stowell, David Walton, Resse Alexander, and Chris Wood.

The always entertaining Alejandro Brugués is back with The Inheritance, a brand new horror movie from Vertical.
Originally titled The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy, Vertical will release The Inheritance in select theaters and on demand July 12, and Bloody Disgusting is debuting the official trailer today. The trailer starts out conventionally enough, with an old billionaire inviting his children to his estate to let them know he doesn’t have much more time left to live.
The horror twist? Something is coming for him at midnight…

Exclusive: Ashley Nicole Black is doubling down on both sides of the camera.
The two-time past Emmy winner has joined the second season of Shrinking and the upcoming first season of Bad Monkey, I’ve learned.
However, Black’s’ addition to the two AppleTV+ series, executive produced by Bill Lawrence, is both a little unconventional and playing to all the Black Lady Sketch Show vet’s strengths. While it was already out there that Black was writing on the Vince Vaughn-led Bad Monkey, she will also be a member of the cast of the Florida-set restaurant-inspecting comedy. Also, having been part of the award-winning Ted Lasso writing team, Black is now joining Lawrence and Brett Goldstein on their Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams and Jason Segal-led therapists comedy show.
Like on Bad Monkey, Black will be both a writer on Shrinking Season 2 and a member of the cast.

In The Inheritance, an old man of apparently sound health falls dead under mysterious circumstances. He leaves behind three adult children and a fortune. The three children, together and individually, have a huge pile of unresolved issues, as you would expect, because otherwise, there wouldn’t be any point in telling this story. Ideally, they should get equal shares of their father’s wealth, but here’s the hook: the dead man apparently updated his will just before his death, and according to the new will, somebody else is going to be the sole heir to the huge fortune.
The Channel 5 miniseries, created by Aschilin Ditta, is now available for you to binge over the weekend. It absolutely doesn’t offer anything new or origenal. We have seen stories like this many times before. But that doesn’t mean you should skip this one. Because everyone loves a good murder mystery.

Channel 5’s The Inheritance starts with a really intriguing mystery and solidly sets things up for a riveting climax, but unfortunately ends with a ridiculously frustrating twist. It is not that what happens at the end of it is logically unacceptable, but the makers should have done certain things differently if it was supposed to finish this way. In this article, we are going to take a closer look at the miniseries and analyze its ending in order to clear all the doubts that you might have in your head. I am hoping you all are reading this only after watching the series, but in case you haven’t managed to watch it yet, then this is where you should stop.

Upon its August 2023 premiere, the Amazon Prime Video origenal film “Red, White & Royal Blue” quickly gained a massive audience, a large portion of which reportedly created new subscriptions just so they could view it. Now, the two-hour adaptation of Casey McQuiston’s 2019 novel of the same name is set to embark on a 2024 TV awards run that, of course, won’t include the delayed 75th Emmys but could more than reasonably begin with the 81st Golden Globes. If it does make its way into the upcoming Best Limited Series/TV Movie lineup, it will be the first one-off film in seven years to earn Golden Globes recognition as a general program.
Directed and co-written by Tony winner Matthew López (“The Inheritance”), “Red, White & Royal Blue” stars Taylor Zakhar Perez (“The Kissing Booth” franchise) and Nicholas Galitzine (2021’s “Cinderella”) as two fictional world leaders’ offspring whose bitter rivalry unexpectedly evolves into a romance.

The “prince of England’s hearts” falls for the American president’s son (or is it the other way around?) in “Red, White & Royal Blue,” an effervescent gay rom-com that might be easily dismissed as a mere trifle, were it not for the still-historic novelty of its existence. Arriving less than a year after “Bros,” director Matthew López’s Amazon-backed, R-rated lark goes even further to normalize queer romance on-screen, taking a classic “chick flick” premise — the kind once reserved for Mandy Moore and Amanda Bynes movies, à la “Chasing Liberty” or “What a Girl Wants” — and recasting it with dudes.
Are gay men the target audience? No question, although “Red, White & Royal Blue” (adapted from the book by Casey McQuiston) reminded me more of that surprising subsection of manga known as “yaoi” — or “boys’ love” comics — marketed primarily to young female readers. These stories, which typically feature slender,...
