A Short That's Worth Watching
The Great Performance (1983)
*** (out of 4)
This short film from writer-director Alexander Cassini starts off with a clown walking into a dressing room where takes his clown outfit off and changes into a suit like a normal person. Now, dressed as this normal person, he walks out onto a stage where he must perform for a room full of clowns. You should be able to know what "twist" on a familiar story that the director was trying to do here and for the most part I thought he did a nice job with this film. It clocks in at just five-minutes and features some very good cinematography and I also thought that the director did a nice job in letting its story reveal itself. The performance from the lead actor was quite good and overall this was an entertaining and fun film.
