The story is about a young man returning to his hometown cherishing the memorable moments with his closest pal that happened in their childhood days.

I could easily relate to the movie being a 90's kid especially the collection of cricketer & wrestler cards, going to neighborhood for watching TV,fear about kidnap in Omni van, imitating wrestling moves with friends & siblings. The movie gives us a chance to reflect on our lives and to forgive and forget the childhood traumas and the importance of nurturing and maintaining good relationships. The mischievousness & innocence of childhood days is portrayed effortlessly by all the kids in the movie and credit goes to Abu Valayamkulam for the brilliant casting in the movie.

A psychological thriller that crawls initially takes a paradigm shift towards the latter half.
The plot of the story is about a couple leading a secluded life, the husband who is a medico and his wife who has been diagnosed with retrograde Amnesia since few years after an untoward incident in their life and the police investigation in the backdrop on few missing cases forms the nutshell of the story.
The script is an adaptation from Lajo Jose's novel and the joint effort of Amal & Lajo is evident in the script with the detailed characterisation given to the central characters and the eerie atmosphere brings curiousness and suspicion in the minds of the viewers. The first half of the movie highlights on the background formation of the lead characters and the audience may feel monotonous to an extent until few developments happen before the interval.
The second half of the movie gives spellbound moments to the audience followed by an engaging climax sequences and tail end.
Great comeback by Jyothirmayi after 11 years and Amal has given her a good Avenue for proving her mettle as an actor in this movie. She has given a subtle performance of her characters in varied layers.

Jigra (2024)
Jigra - A slow burner survival drama
Jigra
A slow burning survival drama upholding the brother sister bonding and their fight for justice in a foreign land.
The plot of the story is about an orphaned sibling by circumstances who had to live at the sympathy of a close relative but had to surrender unwillingly to be the scapegoat for the well being of their affluent relative.
The director begins the story with a slow pace and attains momentum towards the end of the first half. The audience missed connection to the movie irrespective of a good script which shows the director slipped in setting a good background for the onwards progress of the story.
Alia Bhatt has effortlessly performed the role of a bold, brave & caring sister who goes to any extent for saving her brother. Impressive performances by Vivek Gomber,Vedang Raina,Ankur Khanna,Rahul Ravindran & Manoj Pahwa.
Good work by the DOP Swapnil S Sonawane & the art department. The film could have gone places with better promotional strategies and execution.

T J Gnanavel has penned the story for Thalaivar giving avenues for mass action performance unlike his debut directorial that highlighted a social cause from a very serious perspective. Thekku Vadakku (2024)
Thekku Vadakku - Flat lame writing overpowered performances
Thekku Vadakku
A sarcastic drama that stumbled with lame writing.
The plot of the story is about two individuals holding their rivalry and ego since their ancestral times trying to create issues to irritate each other. Their rivalry is the talk of the town and hot topic for discussion among their near and dear ones.
Hareesh has created good characterisation arc for Vinayakan and Suraj with minor and accurate detailing but failed to give a clear picture to the audience as a whole on the basic plot of the rivalry. The basic idea written on paper was good but it slipped away in few areas when it came on screen.
Impressive performances were made by Vinayakan & Suraj but their performance alone couldn't lift the movie.
Flat writing and poor execution makes the movie a one time watch just for the performances.

A small sports drama combined with light humour and emotions.
The story reflects on the life of a teenage boy aspiring to become a successful badminton player and the odd circumstances he has to face on his path to achieve his life goal.

VKP has given a flavourless meal with light hearted humour moments.
The plot of the movie revolves around an immature young, spoiled and lazy boy in one instance and a determined young matured lady who had to give up her aspirations and succumb to life circumstances marries each other and the harsh realities they come to know about each other and funny incidents forms the storyline.
The first half of the movie moved in a decent pace with some hilarious moments but the later half lost momentum completely leading to a sudden illogical climax.
You will find the first half of the movie entertaining to an extent if you still cherish the youthful adolescent vibes within you and the second half with a bare minimum maturity.
Seems VKP has reached a saturation point in envisioning a good story rather than bringing a cooked up story with cliche situations. The entire movie could have been cut short by atleast 15 minutes where the editing department failed miserably.
Decent performances by Ashwin Jose,Meera Jasmine,Shanthikrishna,Maniyanpilla Raju,Ashokan & Nisha Sarang.
The lack of proper screenplay and strong storyline makes the movie just a one time watchable entertainer.

Mahesh has portrayed FaFaa as a weak character who is not comfortable with cats but how he tries to get rid of the cat from the house crookedly forms the storyline.
Mahesh has tried to make the story narrative interesting but couldn't keep the audience completely hooked to the movie as he does in his full length commercial films.
FaFaa's performance couldn't elevate the story as a whole. The long time duration makes this short story just a one time watch.

*Kadalkkaattu by Rathish Ambat*
Rathish has portrayed the life of a working man who balances his family and an illicit relationship in his workplace away from home.
Rathish has given a good character to Aparna Balamurali as a lovable and caring wife and she has made a subtle delivery of the role.
Indrajith has portrayed the character convincingly and the moments he feels guilty was shown brilliantly by Rathish Ambat indirect references.

*Abhayam Thedi Veendum by Santosh Sivan*
The entire movie could have carried by the versatile actor Siddique alone but Santosh couldn't convince what he was trying to convey through the story.
The movie may get critical acclamation but not convincing to normal audience.
Felt like he has treated the subject like an offbeat movie he has done earlier.

*Swargam Turakkunna Samayam by Jayaraj*
Jayaraj holds true to the typical value oriented movies in this anthology series as well. It was heard in a promotional drive that Jayaraj was given a privilege to choose from among the 9 short stories by MT and he had rightly chosen this.
The movie reflects on the age old custom beliefs like an ideal time for death of a person.
It was delightful and heart warming to see Nedumudy Venu in one of his final performance through this posthumous release.
Jayaraj has conveyed the selfish and greedy attitude of humans over family relationships in the movie through various moments.
A close resemblance to Anjali Menon's Manjadikkuru was felt in few areas of the story. Good performances by Indrans,Renji Panicker & Surabhi Lakshmi.

Nunakkuzhi (2024)
Nunakuzhi - Liar's day out
Nunakuzhi - Liar's day out
A humorous engaging story telling by Jeethu Joseph built over endless lies.
The plot of the movie revolves around the heaps of lies that two individuals tell to cover the trouble they accidentally got into and the interconnected events that they come across forms the storyline.
Krishnakumar has written an engaging script with many humorous moments except for few flaws in areas that makes the story predictable. The way he connected all the characters in the story and their placement was impressive.
A highlight of this movie is evident through the brilliant casting of many versatile actors in the movie. Impressive performances by Basil,Grace,Siddique,Baiju Santhosh,Manoj K Jayan,Saiju Kurup,Althaf & Binu Pappu.
Good story telling by Jeethu in the humour genre after My Boss. The placement of the song 'Hallelujah' synced well with the situation. Jeethu has conveyed the story through a humorous track without losing the essence of the screenplay keeping the audience absorbed to the movie.
A fun to watch entertainer that is definitely a laughter treat for the audience.
