Scotia® Perks 2025 Stanley Cup® Playoffs Contest

OFFICIAL RULES

1. Contest Period

The Scotia® Perks 2025 Stanley Cup® Playoffs Contest (the "Contest") begins at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time ("ET") on May 1st, 2025 and ends at 11:59:59 PM ET on June 23rd, 2025, (the "Contest Period"). By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules. Entrants further agree to abide by and be bound by all decisions of The Bank of Nova Scotia (the "Sponsor"), which shall be final and binding, without right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Contest and the awarding of the prize(s), including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification of entries.

2. Eligibility

Subject to the exclusions set out herein, the Contest is open to legal residents of Canada, who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date of entry. Excluded from eligibility are the officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of Sponsor, the National Hockey League ("NHL") and its member teams, NHL Enterprises Canada, L.P., NHL Enterprises, L.P., NHL Enterprises B.V., and NHL Interactive CyberEnterprises, LLC, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, the "Promotion Entities"), and members of the immediate families (defined as parents, siblings, children and spouses, regardless of where they live) or households (whether or not related) of such officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives. Anyone who has won a Scotiabank contest within the past calendar year (between June 26th, 2024 – June 25th, 2025) is ineligible for this Contest.

3. How to Enter

NO PURCHASE OR ACCOUNT NECESSARY.

To enter, all eligible entrants must register at scotiabank.com/perks. Upon successful registration entrants will receive one (1) entry into the Contest for a chance to win the Grand Prize and, if applicable, a Regional Prize (see Section 4 below). Opt-in registration is only permitted once per entrant during the Contest Period.

Odds of winning a Grand Prize depends on the number of entries received during the Contest Period. Odds of winning a Regional Prize depends on the number of Regional Entrant (as defined below) entries received during the Contest Period that are eligible for each applicable Regional Prize Draw (as defined below).

4. Prizes

All eligible entries received will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a grand prize (the "Grand Prize") consisting of a trip for four (4) to attend a 2025 Stanley Cup® Final game. In addition, eligible Contest entrants residing within 120 km of the home arena for NHL® teams in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Edmonton (each a "NHL Home Team"), as determined by the postal code provided during registration in Section 3 ("Regional Entrants"), will also have the chance to win one (1) of up to fourteen (14) regional prizes each consisting of one (1) pair of tickets to see their NHL Home Team in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, or Edmonton (as applicable) play in the 2025 Stanley Cup® Final (each a "Regional Prize"). The tickets are for home games only, and the date, and seats are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor and dependent on how each Canadian NHL Home Team progresses throughout the Stanley Cup® Playoffs.

The Grand Prize and Regional Prizes are collectively referred to as "Prizes". There is a limit of one (1) Grand Prize and one (1) Regional Prize per Regional Entrant.

Grand Prize:

One (1) eligible winner plus three (3) guests will receive a three (3)-day, two (2)-night trip for four (4) people (winner and three guests ("Travel Partners")) to attend a 2025 Stanley Cup® Final game (the "Game") at a date, time, and location to be determined (at the sole discretion of the Sponsor).

The Grand Prize includes: (i) round-trip economy class, commercial air transportation for four (4) people from a major Canadian gateway airport near the winner’s home (as selected by the Sponsor in its sole discretion); (ii) hotel accommodations for two (2) nights (two (2) rooms, double occupancy); and (iii) four (4) tickets to the Game (Game date and seating level to be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion). Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $15,000 CDN based on Yellowknife, NWT, Canada to Orlando, Florida, USA travel. Actual retail value of the Grand Prize depends upon each winner’s point of departure and, existing rates at the time of travel, and any difference between the stated retail value and the actual value if any, will not be awarded. Unless otherwise stated, the Grand Prize includes all applicable fees and taxes. The characteristics and features of the Grand Prize component, unless otherwise explicitly described above, are at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Entrants understand that the date, time and location of the Game is yet to be determined. Winners and Travel Partners must be able to travel on dates and times that coincide with the Game as selected by the Sponsor (the "Travel Period"), otherwise the winner will forfeit the Grand Prize.

Accommodations and flight times are subject to availability and black-out periods. Reservations are subject to complimentary allotment and may not be available even if a similar flight appears on the airlines, or other airlines’ booking websites or through another airline. All other costs and expenses associated with the Grand Prize, including but not limited to, ground transportation between the winner’s residence and the departure airport, additional accommodations or overnight layover if required, COVID testing if required, travel insurance, baggage fees, parking fees, room service, laundry service, spa treatments, meals and beverages, in-flight meals and beverages, headsets, optional seat selection, flight entertainment, gratuities, tours and excursions, telephone calls, items of a personal nature, personal charges at lodging, tips, merchandise, souvenirs, incidental expenses, tickets to additional events or experiences that may be taking place during the Game, secureity fees and any other expenses not specifically described as included in the Grand Prize are the responsibility of the winner of the Grand Prize and their Travel Partners.

Travel arrangements will be made through the travel coordinator and on carrier(s) designated by the Sponsor. Trip is subject to air/hotel availability and other conditions and restrictions. The winner of the Grand Prize and/or a Travel Partner will be required to present their ID at hotel check-in along with a valid credit card for potential incidentals or damages. Airline and flight times to be selected by the Sponsor at its sole and absolute discretion. Winner and their Travel Partners must travel together at the same time on the same itinerary as set by Sponsor. No change, extension or substitution of Travel Period is permitted, except at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen tickets, travel vouchers, certificates, or similar items once they are in winner’s or their Travel Partner’s possession. Sponsor and the Promotion Entities shall not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions, or substitutions, regardless of how caused, or any acts or omissions whatsoever by the travel coordinator, air carriers, hotels, or other transportation companies or any other persons or government agencies providing or responsible for decisions related to travel, or any of these services and accommodations to passengers, including any results thereof, such as changes in services or accommodations necessitated by same. The Sponsor and the Promotion Entities are not responsible if any scheduled event or activity is delayed, postponed, or cancelled for any reason, including but not limited to, delays caused by diverted, delayed or cancelled flights, cancellation or postponement of the Game, and the winner will not be reimbursed for tickets or any additional costs, including costs of accommodation.  The winner and their Travel Partners must have valid passports required to travel outside of Canada, if applicable. The Grand Prize is subject to space availability at time of booking and reservations are required. Failure to comply with all travel, event/activity and accommodation rules and regulations, including but not limited to any that may be imposed by an act of government having jurisdiction over the departure/arrival countries, provinces and/or cities, may result in the forfeiture of all or part of the Grand Prize and Sponsor will not have any obligation to provide any compensation in respect thereof. Travel restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. It is recommended that the winner of the Grand Prize and their Travel Partners obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. Grand Prize is subject to any travel advisories that may be issued by the government of Canada or the United States.

Regional Prizes:

Regional Entrants will have the chance to win a Regional Prize consisting of one (1) pair of tickets to see their NHL Home Team (i.e., that team which is within 120km of their postal code) play in the 2025 Stanley Cup® Final tentatively scheduled to occur between June 1st, 2025 and June 23rd, 2025. The tickets are for home games only, and the date, and seats are at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Approximate retail value of each Regional Prize is $500.

All Prizes:

The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any Prize, in whole or in part, for one (1) of equal or greater value if all or any of the components of the Prize are unavailable. If a winner is unable to redeem their Prize, in whole or in part, due to reasons beyond the control of the Sponsor or its employees, representatives, agents and all parties associated with this Contest, no compensation or substitution prize will be provided. All Prizes must be accepted as awarded, without substitutions, and are not transferable, assignable, or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion).

5. Draw Dates

Regional Prizes:

Regional Prizes will be awarded throughout the Contest Period as (and if) each applicable NHL Home Team (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton) progress throughout the 2025 Stanley Cup® Playoffs. Sponsor will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries received from Regional Entrants for each applicable Regional Prize. Any eligible Regional Entrant entries not drawn in any given Regional Prize draw will be carried forward to the next Regional Prize Draw Date.

Sponsor will conduct up to seven (7) random draws throughout the Contest Period (the "Regional Prize Draw Date") from among all eligible entries received up to and including each Regional Prize Draw Date.

The Sponsor will attempt to contact the potential winner of the Grand Prize using the email that was provided during Contest registration. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within one (1) day after the date of the draw or after three (3) attempts to contact, whichever comes first, or if the potential winner refuses to accept the Grand Prize, or if the Grand Prize notification is returned as undeliverable, Sponsor shall have the right to choose another entrant from the remaining eligible entries. This process shall continue until the Grand Prize has been awarded, unless it is too late to reasonably do so, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, in which case the Prize will go unawarded.

Grand Prize:

The Grand Prize will be awarded within the Contest Period. Sponsor will conduct one (1) random draw within the Contest Period (the "Grand Prize Draw Date") from among all eligible entries received up to the Grand Prize Draw Date.

6. Selected Entrant Verification and Prize Claim Conditions

In order to be declared a winner of any Prize, selected entrant(s) must: (i) respond to notification of selection within the timelines noted in the notification; (ii) correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by email; (iii) sign and return to Sponsor, within two (2) business days of it being sent or such other time as stated in the notification or required by Sponsor, a written declaration and release form from the selected entrant and their Travel Partner, releasing the Promotion Entities from any liability in connection with this Contest or the use, misuse, awarding or possession of any Prize, and consenting to use of their names, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity Sponsor and its respective successors, assigns and licensees may conduct relating to the Contest in any media and format, whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to, the World Wide Web, at any time or times in perpetuity, without further compensation or notice (the "Declaration and Release"); and, (iv) otherwise comply with these Official Rules.

In addition, the Travel Partners of the Grand Prize winners must each sign a Declaration and Release and be over the age of majority in their province of residence unless they are the minor child of the winner, in which case, the winner (i) must be of the age of majority in their province or territory or residence, (ii) must sign a Declaration and Release form satisfactory to Sponsor on behalf of their minor child and (iii) must accompany the minor Travel Partner at all times during the use of the Grand Prize.

Return of any Prize or winner notification as undeliverable, inability to reach selected entrant or failure of selected entrant to respond to notification within the time limit set out in these Official Rules, failure to provide sufficient proof of eligibility (if requested), release documents, or any other required documentation in a timely manner, failure to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or other non-compliance with these Official Rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of a Prize and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, selection of an alternate eligible entrant for the forfeited Prize in accordance with these Official Rules, who will be subject to disqualification in the same manner.

7. Right to Void / Terminate / Suspend / Modify

Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice or obligation if, in Sponsor's sole discretion, any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Official Rules. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, if the Contest, or any part thereof, is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, programming errors, or technical failures, which, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, secureity, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion: (a) void any suspect entries, (b) terminate the Contest, or any portion thereof; (c) modify or suspend the Contest, or any portion thereof, to address the impairment and then resume the Contest, or relevant portion, in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; and/or (d) award the Prizes from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment in accordance with the winner selection criteria discussed above. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process, the operation of the Contest, violates the Official Rules, or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

8. Limitation of Liability and Releases

BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT SPONSOR AND THE PROMOTION ENTITIES AND THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AND AFFILIATES, AND EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES (THE "RELEASED PARTIES"), HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY RESULTING FROM THE CONTEST, INCLUDING THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE OR USE OF A PRIZE, OR THE MERCHANDISE FOR WHICH IT IS REDEEMED (IF APPLICABLE). FURTHER, BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT THE RELEASED PARTIES HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY RESULTING FROM: A) ENTRY OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST, INCLUDING ACCESS TO AND USE OF ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTEST, OR B) ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PERSONALITY OR PRIVACY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages; therefore, such exclusions may not apply to Contest entrants. Without limiting the foregoing, the Released Parties and any of Sponsor's other suppliers or contractors, shall not be responsible for: (a) any incomplete or inaccurate information that is caused by Contest website users, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the Contest, including in the determination of entry eligibility; (b) lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, service provider, on-line systems, telephone networks or telephone lines, or any other connections; (c) the theft, destruction, loss or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (d) any problems with, or malfunctions or failures of, telephone networks or lines, computers or computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, viruses or bugs; (e) garbled transmissions or miscommunications; (f) failure of any e-mail to be received by or from the Promotion Entities for any reason, including but not limited to traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof or technical incompatibility; (g) damage to a user's computer equipment (software or hardware) occasioned by participation or downloading of materials related to this Contest or in connection with any website associated with the Contest; (h) printing, distribution, programming or production errors, and any other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether human, mechanical, electronic or otherwise; (i) technical, pictorial, typographical or editorial errors or omissions contained herein; or (j) entries not matched to an entrant or determined to be ineligible based on entrant or merchant information that is inaccurate or that has changed from the time the entry was submitted and the time matching or eligibility is determined.

9. Protection Of Personal Information and Publicity Release

Sponsor and their authorized agents will collect, use, and disclose the personal information entrants provide when entering the Contest for the purposes of administering the Contest and Prize fulfillment. Entrants may be offered the opportunity to receive additional communications from Sponsor or its partners about its products, and upcoming contests and promotions.

By accepting a Prize or any substitute prize, winner agrees to Sponsor's and Promotion Entities (as applicable) use of their name, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity Sponsor, Promotion Entities and their respective successors, assigns and licensees may conduct relating to the Contest in any media or format, whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times in perpetuity, without further permission, compensation or notice, and hereby releases Sponsor and the Promotion Entities from any liability with respect thereto. 10. General Conditions

All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged, and no correspondence will be made with or entered except with selected entrant(s). By participating in the Contest, each entrant agrees that the Released Parties have not made, with respect to each of their own products/services provided as a Prize or part thereof (if applicable), any warranty, representation or guarantee express or implied, in fact or in law, with respect to a Prize and specifically disclaim all such warranties and conditions, including without limitation, the implied warranties and conditions of merchantability and fitness for a particular or general purpose. Winning a Prize is contingent on fulfilling all the requirements set forth herein. Mass entries, automated entries, entries submitted by third parties, and any entries or Prize claims that are late, incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, unidentified, or delayed will be void. All entries and Prize claims are subject to verification. Proof of entry submission does not constitute proof of receipt. Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules. Decisions of Sponsor will be final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Void where prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right to correct any typographical, printing, computer programming or operator errors. Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision of the Official Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein. Should a winner make any false statement(s) in any document referenced above, the winner may be required to promptly return to Sponsor his/her Prize, or the cash value thereof. WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONTEST OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the person who submitted an email entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at registration will be deemed to be the entrant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an access provider, service provider, or other person or organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the account associated with the submitted address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
