1-3 shows different versions of the NASA official seal, usually used in conjunction with the NASA Administrator or official administrative functions. Problems with printing it on early copy machines led to the introduction of the worm logo (4) which was used from 1975-1992, and re-instated as a secondary identifier in 2020. Used in a more informal manner than the seal, the "meatball" logo was introduced at the same time of the official seal (1958) and is seen on every NASA item. (5)[2] All three of them can be used today for different purposes[3]
