It’s a wrap on Superman as James Gunn expressed his gratitude to everyone that made filming the DC Studios production possible.
In a social media post, the filmmaker thanked everyone involved in the making of the superhero film and shared a photo from the first week of shooting in Svalbard, Norway.
“And that’s a wrap,” Gunn posted on Instagram. “God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life.”
He continued, “I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor.”

“The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set – and for that I am forever grateful.”
Superman stars David Corenswet in the titled role, which is set for release on July 11, 2025. The cast includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. The ensemble includes Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced, and Nathan Fillion.
Neat.
I don’t really have a dog in the fight between DC fans and Snyder fans, but this line “I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much.” says to me that Gunn gets the character. Hoping the movie turns out well.
I don’t think it will be as good as GotG or The Suicide Squad, but i watch every cbm.
James Gunn wrote the script for the Dawn of the Dead remake and started Zack Snyders career.
He also made Super and Slither, so he knows his stuff.
Superman won’t be as great, but it may be a solid movie.
How do you know it “won’t be great”? The movie has finished shooting but isn’t close to done.
Also, writers have written mediocre scripts and directors have enhanced them. Directors and execs have also ruined great scripts with their “vision.” Works both ways.
So, Yeah…I’m not a DC Comics Fan. However, I LOVE James Gunn’s movies.
So, Yeah…My butts going to be in a seat on opening night for anything James creates.
So yeah.
So, Yeah…Well Said!!!
