Superstore Renewed for Season 5

Superstore won’t be going out of business anytime soon: NBC has renewed the Thursday night comedy for Season 5, TVLine has learned.
“Week after week, Justin Spitzer, our amazing writers and cast and crew masterfully deliver a comedy that not only makes us laugh but speaks to the larger issues of the day,” NBC’s co-presidents of scripted programming Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta said in a statement.
America Ferrera leads an ensemble cast as Amy, an employee at big-box store Cloud 9. Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Bloom and Mark McKinney round out the ensemble.
The pick-up follows previous renewals for fellow Thursday night comedies Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Season 7), The Good Place (Season 4) and Will & Grace (Season 11). NBC has also renewed freshman drama New Amsterdam and all three #OneChicago dramas for next season. TVLine’s Renewal Scorecard has been updated to reflect the news.
Superstore‘s current fourth season resumes this Thursday, March 7 at 8/7c, where it will now lead into Season 2 of A.P. Bio. This Is Us star Chrissy Metz is set to guest-star in an episode this May as a Cloud 9 human resources rep.

I’m surprised their golden egg This is us wasn’t one of the early pick ups. Obviously it will be but still.
I never even finished the first season. It started out strong, but got boring pretty fast imo.
A friend of mine, who is a This is Us superfan, has been pretty bored this season, I guess.
Not that individual opinions matter. It’s still a hugely successful show. I assume it’s still on top of the ratings.
Great news! I didn’t expect much from this series when it first started, but these days, I look forward to it on Thursday nights the way I used to look forward to Big Bang Theory.
I didn’t watch at first either because the commercials for it didn’t grab me. I am so glad I gave it a chance. Very happy to hear this news & am looking forward to Thursday’s return.
Same exact thing happened to me and now it’s one of my favorite shows on tv!
I barely made through season one, but then, in season two, it clicked. Mostly, they learned how to write Amy and America Fererra started acting as if she didn’t despise starring this show.

After the pilot didn’t catch my attention, I didn’t start watching Superstore until it was on winter hiatus this season, and I low-key hate myself for not watching it sooner because it’s hysterical and my new favorite show. I’ve made it my mission to introduce all my friends to it. It deserves to reach syndication.

I am so happy that this show has been renewed. I have watched from the beginning, and find myself laughing every episode. There aren’t a lot of shows that do that for me anymore.

I feel like I can finally stop holding my breath! This show keeps getting better and better. I burst out laughing so often on this second half of season 4. I’m sooo relieved the best sitcom on TV is being renewed !!!
This show really hits differently when you actually work retail! Customers really are that dumb. And one of them asking why the razor blades are locked up really sent me because I get asked that all the time and it really is common sense.
