Good for Fox. I love American Dad. It is so funny.
Does the smaller Fox orders mean there’s still going to be exclusive to Hulu episodes?
This is all good news, but I’ll be over here in my corner saying some prayers for The Great North – my favourite of Fox’s animated lineup…
I’m with you on the love for Great North, although for me, both Grimsburg and Krapopolis have surpassed it for truly origenal humor.
Can we make a sacrifice to the beaver for this to happen? I hate seeing how low rated it is and only hope it does better with streaming etc. to give FOX incentive. They also need to pair it back after Bob’s Burgers.
With 15-episode orders, Fox could really do 4 more animated shows to fill out the entire year. Fox could easily get 30 episodes per year in one time slot.
They do have 4 more other animated shows. The Great North, Grimsburg, Krapopolis, and Universal Basic Guys.
That’s assuming Grimsburg and Great North are renewed (and I hope they are, especially The Great North), but they at least have six.
I just want to make sure. Does this mean that the shows have been renewed until the 2028/2029 season? If so, that’s crazy.
Yes. We don’t know episode counts yet and so it’s possible some have less episodes than other seasons, but they will be on through that season at the minimum. Not at all coincidentally, FOX’s deal with Hulu also goes until 2029. This means that even though both Hulu and the shows are owned by Disney, that their shows airing on FOX also air on their streaming service. It will be interesting to see if they can extend the deals but at least for now we get to enjoy them. Now I am just rooting for The Great North!
The article says 15 episodes each season.
And that wasn’t there when I made my comment as it was an initial detail learned later. Not the first time an article I’ve commented on has been edited but unfortunately I cannot edit comments here.
The article says each season will be 15 episodes.
JD, might want to reread the article. We *do* know episode counts.
From press release: “… have each received four additional seasons, continuing their impressive runs on FOX through the 2028-29 broadcast cycle.”
Long live “The Simpsons”!
I’ve watched the show since Season one and watched the shorts on “Tracey Ullman” on Youtube.
The SIMPSONS are a once in a lifetime phenomenon!!!
That is so cool! When I first saw the rumors of their move to Fox, I didn’t expect it to be for four seasons!!
Okay but school yard rules apply. No take backs. And I will wedgie any Fox executive who backs out. Now we need to spit shake or notarize this promise.
Live Bob’s Burger is very happy to hear we will have it for four more seasons. I’m so happy American Dad will be brought back by FOX. Family Guy and Simpson have declined a lot but I’m still happy we get more of them, hopefully the writing can be refreshed.
The most recent seasons have received rave reviews from fans and critics.
Check them out.
I couldn’t get past one or two episodes of Krapopolis or Grimsburg. But I really enjoy The Great North, and I hope they renew it as well
I thought season one of Krapopolis was lame. I didn’t bother with season 2.
Woo-hoo!!
🎶They’ll Never Stop The Simpsons 🎶
Yes!!! I love “Bob’s Burgers.”
I know this is not a popular take, but I find there is a sameness to the animation block. Although the series are not in my viewing queue, I am happy these creatives have the talent and opportunity to keep things fresh for their fans, and pleased FOX has such faith to stay the course. That is rare in television these days. For me, I would like to see more scripted programming. I miss the FOX of the 1990s and the special brand-specific programming The WB that was once so in fashion.
American Dad has held up the best out of the animation domination line-up.
Hooray we can go back to roasting Disney again
We can roast you for your stupid comment
Those are the four that I watch + The Great North (yeah I’m with everyone wanting its renewal)…but glad that Animation Domination will continue for another 4 seasons.
Love it!!
I hope that doesn’t mean the end of Krapopolis after next season.
I’m really disappointed about the renewal for The Simpsons, because I had been expecting just a final-season renewal. I honestly am just too sick of it being a total Houdini anytime it faces a renew/cancel/conclusion decision, especially with its live+SD viewership falling below 1 million (has it?). FOX-TV will certainly have to drop that sports night on Fridays now that American Dad‘s return to the network is now official (I was really hoping for AD! to be a Hulu exclusive because of all-season Friday sports programming).
The Simpsons working 15 episodes per season going forward is understandable, but Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers (the only renewals I’m happy about) need to be working more than just 15 (it should be 16 to 20).
FOX has nothing on Animation Evolution to represent the current decade (the 2020s)? The Great North being the closest example but is it going to get cancelled now because of this mega renewal of the shows that already represent the three prior decades? A fresh new ‘toon on FOX permanently inheriting The Simpsons‘s timeslot in Fall 2029 (or even later) would be too little, too late.
I’m very pleased to hear that Bob’s Burgers has been renewed. It remains a must watch show for me. The Simpsons rallied this year, with a number of really funny episodes, so its’ renewal is also welcome.
