Trinity Catholic College:
"An Inclusive, Learning Community Living Out Gospel Values"

Trinity Pupils Trinity Catholic College is the amalgamation of two of the area's long established schools, FCJ Newlands and St David's Roman Catholic Technology College. Both of these schools have been held in extremely high regard by the immediate and wider community. That posiition has been built up over many years as the schools established themselves as caring and inclusive schools that celebrate high academic attainment. I feel both fortunate and humble to have been given the opportunity to serve Trinity's community as Headteacher.

My vision for Trinity is a school that continues to be at the heart of the Catholic community, proud of its culture and its diversity, dedicated and fully inclusive in the school mission to support the development of young people through shared Gospel values. It will be at the leading edge of educational development and relentless in its pursuit of excellence.

Science PupilsIt will be an 'intelligent' school that will learn as it develops but it will not lose sight of important values. It will be a preparation for life and an important part of pupils' faith journey.

Our children will face the demanding world of the 21st Century with confidence and hope. They will be team players, imaginative, flexible and determined;ICT Pupils they will want to shape the future, not respond to it. The school experience will be exciting, demanding and enjoyable. Visitors to the school will find it welcoming, friendly and purposeful; where there is clear concern for the individual, a commitment to high standards and a place where complacency and cynicism are not tolerated. It will be a school where young people enjoy learning and teachers enjoy teaching.

I have a firm belief (to quote Nelson Mandela) that, 'We were born to manifest the glory of creation that is within us, it is not just in some of us, it is in everyone.' With this in mind our whole community must strive together to ensure our children have the opportunity to "let their light shine".
