As a kid, I liked horror, and fantasy, and special effects, etc.. But now, if it's not about reality, or at least 'believable', it's just total boredom for me. Like listening to a sales pitch, that promises to reinvent the wheel. Like listening to the experts telling me that today's economic problems started in 1990. No, it started when Reagan was elected. No, it started in 2005, No, 2007. No, it started in 1932. It started at the Boston Tea Party. No! When they crucified Jesus. .. I like the idea of 'Mexican Catholicism'; i never heard that term before. ... Monsters under the bed. LOL

Twice while viewing this conversation, I had to stop the tape so that I could email its web link to friends who will love this.
I did like Pan’s Labyrinth. Although I’m not attracted to most horror films and books, I love the use and importance of imagination and myths, and recently I’ve come to agree with Guillermo’s views on pain. This was a fun conversation to listen to, and I look forward to The Hobbit films.

Guy's a lot like Stephen King. Ppl have a lot of theories about the preoccupation with horror, etc, these days, but one thing I think you can say about it is that it is infantile, like the grotesques on a medieval cathedral.
