Climb to the balcony mid-way up the tower. Stand on the railing of the balcony, right in front of the beam with the hanging lantern. Hold the High Profile button and tap jump—you should hop up and grab the beam.

There are two different workshops where Leo can be found, one in Florence and one in Venice. At the end of the game, during Sequence 14, Leonardo moves to the Villa, in the same room as Claudia and the architect.
