CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Kernels ended the first half of the regular season in style on Sunday pounding Burlington 15-5.
Jon Karcich and Mike Trout each had 3 hits. The Kernels as a team hammered out 20 hits. The team now breaks for the All-Star break. That game will be played Tuesday night in Fort Wayne. Before the game on Sunday the Kernels honored former pitcher Nick Adenhart by retiring his number. Adenhart was killed in a car crash just over a year ago. He pitched in Cedar Rapids back in 2006 where he went 10-2. His mom Janet says Cedar Rapids was Nick's favorite stop before making it to the big leagues. Check out the video highlights.
