A Problem!January 8, 2012 by gorillazforj23Okay everyone I have an issue that i need to bitch about.....ICO. I will begin by saying that i bought it for the hell of it because its supposed to be good and i wanted a change. Well i began playing a couple of nights ago and its the polar opposite of everything i like in a video game. It has very little tangible plot, pathetic combat and its a puzzle game, i have never enjoyed puzzle games and there has been a lack of music through what i have played through. And Finally, Yorda is useless. So, fr0m this one could assume that i dont like this game very much, but i love this game. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME!!! am i going through a transformation in my gaming tastes or is there a certain charm to this game that i just haven't acknowledged yet. I don't know what it is but this game is a summation of everything i hate in games and i love every bit of it.
Am I crazy? What do you guys think?

An apology to anyone who began reading my blogJanuary 8, 2012 by gorillazforj23Hey, this is for anyone who read my, "hookshot ftw!" blog post and the reviews on the zelda games and series. It was supposed to be a good overview of the series and a way to blurt out my opinions on the series and games. Well, life took over and i never got back to working on it. So if anyone wants to know about the rest of the series....read somewhere else sorry. They are all amazing games though, except the cdi games, im a zelda fanatic but didn't play those abominations. Anyway, thanks for anyone that has read my previous entry.

Hookshot FTWDecember 4, 2010 by gorillazforj23To kick off my look at gaming classics i decided to write about my favorite series of all time......The legend of Zelda. I dont know what it is about the series that makes it my favorite but ill try to explain in this post.
To start off i want to talk about the game that started it all!!!
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA
Pure eight bit bad assery
Its a sad thing that i wasnt even born when this game came out. I seriously wish that i could have experienced its awesome gameplay, epic music and save feature in 1986. Oh well i got to play it a few years ago. This game was my first forray into the classic nes era and was I in for a treat. The game was just as awesome twenty years later as it was when it came out. I mean who didnt like stabbing that annoying rock throwing octorok in the face with a sword. The sound was phenomenal the gameplay has been emulated for years and years and as the game that gave us the hero link, i have to give it a rating of .....
MUST PLAY 5/5
Next we move onto what many consider to be the black sheep of the series.
ZELDA 2: THE ADVENTURE OF LINK

So after the first Zelda game rocked the gaming world a sequel was made. In comes Zelda 2. This game that didnt follow the standard Zelda format of dungeon crawling. Find a new item to find the key to kill the boss. Instead it turned Zelda into an action rpg. A move that i am less than thrilled about. Granted, the game was fun and had a great deal of variety but it was too differant for my taste. I must mention that the music was very good, as is typical of all the games in the series. The gamplay was done well with an empahsis on fighting as opposed to puzzles, which is always a plus in my book. So, why does this game fail to impress? One word Difficulty. This game was so hard to get through, without resorting to cheats, that it took away the game entertainment. I do like a challenge but this game was just plain cheap. I did manage to get thorough it without cheats by the way but I think I died about a million times. This game forced me to level grind, which is a negative in my book. Overall the game is a lot of fun but the difficulty dampens the fun overall. So my verdict on this is.....
PLAY ONLY IF YOU ARE A HARDCORE ZELDA FAN 3.5/5
THIS HAS BEEN PART ONE OF MY ZELDA SERIES I HOPE YOU ENJOYED IT. AS ALWAYS FEEDBACK IS HELPFUL AS THIS IS MY FIRST BLOG. STAY TUNED FOR ZELDA PART TWO THE SNES AND N64 ERAS.
