Well folks, the card has been played. After many weeks of undisclosed sexy time, Schmidt and Cece were finally found out in tonight's episode aptly titled "Secrets." And, as one might expect, Jess didn't exactly take her friends' fun buddy news with open arms.
But more entertaining than Jess's huff was Nick's reaction to the announcement -- turtle face strikes again! His genuine disgust ("This makes me hate things.") and subsequent inability to keep the story a secret were really funny. Basically the entire "lay it out on the table" scene among all the roommates and Cece was really well done.
I also enjoyed the series of conversations that developed between Jess and Cece. I sometimes forget that they go way back, and it was nice to see a few cutaways reflecting their very quirky but comfortable relationship. Jess's confrontation with the boys and their chit-chat on "self-completion" was equally entertaining. And come on, of course Jess is gonna slip into the solo mix every now and then, raccoon hands or no. After all, it is the sincerest form of flattery.

All things considered, Winston played things pretty chill, which made it all the more awesome when he laid the smackdown on the entire room (including a rather odd and underplayed bit cameo from 30 Rock's Katrina Bowden). His unexpected fury was hilarious and got a pretty big laugh out of me, if only because it came so out of left field.
The marathon scenes near the end, however, came off a mite cliche. How many countless times are we going to have to watch our out-of-shape protagonists place last in a 5K for charity? It just felt a little been-there-done-that. Nevertheless, it had its moments, especially Nick's confrontation with his former hook-ups. Plus, I'm a sucker for cliches anyway.
What I'm really curious about now is where they're gonna go with Schmidt and Cece's sexcapades. We know that Cece probably has feelings for Schmidt, but the question still remains, are the feelings mutual? It seems kind of weird, though, because I just assumed that Schmidt was the one putting on a farce with the "It's strictly physical" routine. But, whatever, I'm enjoying the ride. No sense in rushing the fun, right?
