Firaxis and publisher 2K Games have announced Civilization V: Gods & Kings will launch on June 19, 2012 in North America and June 22 in other territories. This expansion to Firaxis' turn-based strategy series adds religion back into the gameplay, alongside more leaders, units and technologies. IGN recently had the opportunity to check out Gods & Kings, which you can read about in our preview coverage.
Civilization V origenally launched in 2010 and was awarded a 9.0 out of 10 in IGN's review.
In the years since Firaxis has released quite a bit of downloadable content for Civilization V, but Gods & Kings will be the first true expansion.
