The Oscar-winning Coen brothers film Fargo could become an FX TV series. Variety is reporting that FX is in very early conversations with MGM, who produced the film, about a potential Fargo TV series – though it's not clear if any writer is in mind for the project yet. FX emphasized to Variety that no deal is currently in place for the series.

Frances McDormand won an Academy Award for her lead role as Marge, a very pregnant police chief investigating an increasingly grisly (and darkly comic) case. Joel Coen and Ethan Coen also won an Oscar for their screenplay.

This would be the second attempt to turn Fargo into a TV Series - there was a Fargo TV pilot shot several years ago for CBS with Edie Falco playing Marge.
