Match #1 - WWF World Tag Team Championship | |||
---|---|---|---|
Kane & X-Pac Champions |
def. | D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry Challengers w/Ivory |
via Pinfall (14:44) |
Notes: Kane pinned Henry in a match JR described best with "What a war!" It was quite a bout, although D'Lo and Henry got screwed again! | |||
Match #2 - WWF Hardcore Championship | |||
Al Snow Champion |
def. | Hardcore Holly Challenger |
via Pinfall (12:53) |
Notes: Al powerbombed Holly through a table, and that was all she wrote for Hardcore. | |||
Match #3 - WWF Intercontinental Championship | |||
The Blue Blazer Challenger |
The Godfather Champion |
||
Notes: This match never took place due to a tragic accident. Owen Hart was to descend from the ceiling of the arena, but the harness failed and Owen fell to the ring. The video footage leading up to the match was being shown when the accident took place. From that point on, the cameras were on the crowd, so the tragedy would not be sensationalized. I was in complete shock while I was watching this PPV live, as I'm sure the world was. | |||
Match #4 - Mixed Tag Team Match | |||
Val Venis & Nicole Bass |
def. | Jeff Jarrett & Debra |
via Pinfall (6:07) |
Notes: Venis pinned Jarrett after the Money Shot. Bass planted a kiss on Venis in celebration, and Val liked it. | |||
Match #5 | |||
"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn | def. | "Road Dogg" Jesse James | via Pinfall (11:14) |
Notes: Slow match that the crowd was never into. Well, I guess they were into Road Dogg's entrance and usual pre-match antics, but that was it. Let's move on, please. | |||
Match #6 - Eight-Man Tag Team Elimination Match | |||
"The Union" Mankind* The Big Show Ken Shamrock Test |
def. | "The Corporate Ministry" The Big Boss Man Viscera Faarooq Bradshaw |
via Submission (14:58) |
Notes: Bradshaw pinned Test at 3:44, Shamrock caused Bradshaw to submit at 4:44, Shamrock was then DQed for suplexing the ref at about 7:02, Big Show pinned Faarooq at 7:32, Big Show and Viscera fought their way to the back at about 12:20 (the ref never said anything official), and Mankind caused Big Boss Man to submit to Mr. Socko. *-Mankind was the sole survivor. | |||
Match #7 | |||
The Rock | def. | Triple H w/Chyna |
via DQ (11:41) |
Notes: Helmsley tossed Hebner to the ground to earn the DQ, and was going to continue the beatdown when Rock hit him with a chair. Rock had the upper hand, but Triple H recovered. He was going to finish Rock off when Mankind saved the day. | |||
Match #8 - WWF World Heavyweight Championship | |||
The Undertaker Challenger w/Paul Bearer |
def. | "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Champion |
via Pinfall (22:58) |
Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Shane McMahon was the guest ref. Vince McMahon was injured by the Ministry and he was supposed to be the second referee. Pat Patterson tried to take Vince's place before the match, but the Undertaker took him out before it began. Shane went down and Brisco came to ref, but 'Taker took him out, too. Vince returned to referee, but Shane came to. Shane shoved Vince into Austin, they all fell over the Undertaker, and 'Taker rolled up Austin. One fast count by Shane and a new champion was crowned. |
