A new synopsis for Spider-Man: Freshman Year has been made public which makes a bold proclamation about the Disney+ and Marvel Studios animated series' first episode.

As revealed in a registration record from the U.S. Copyright Office for Freshman Year, Peter Parker's life will be "forever changed" by unnamed events while he's getting ready for his High School orientation, which the synopsis says will send Peter on "a journey like none before." The summary ends by stating the pilot episode will have viewers discover that "the new era of Spider-Man begins here!"

The synopsis included was the names of the main cast, which includes What If...? star Hudson Thames once again voicing Peter, as well as Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn, Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May, Hugh Darcy as Otto Octavius, Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln and Grace Song as Nico Minoru. Regarding when the show premieres, it has been reported by The Cosmic Circus that Freshman Year will debut in November 2024.

Prior to this, head writer Jeff Trammell discussed the show when a fan asked for updates on it, to which he replied, "Nothing that I can share yet, just that I'm eager for everyone to see the show. Our crew worked (and is still working) hard to make Freshman Year feel special, fun and unique, and I'm excited for the world to see it!"

Additionally, Marvel Studios Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum confirmed in 2022 that Freshman Year doesn't take place on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Earth-616. "Well, like we said, in the [San Diego Comic-Con] panel, it follows the pattern that you see in [Captain America:] Civil War," he commented. "Down to Peter getting the broken Blu-ray player from the trash and he walks into his department for the famous moment where Tony Stark is waiting for him to offer him the Stark internship and take him to Berlin."

"But because of things that happen in the multiverse because of new, random occurrences, it's not Tony Stark who's waiting for him there," Winderbaum continued. "It's Norman Osborn and that sends his life in an unexpected trajectory that collides him with many unexpected characters in the Marvel universe."

Daredevil's Charlie Cox Joined the Cast

Going back to the voice cast, an earlier announcement revealed that Daredevil actor Charlie Cox would voice the Man Without Fear in Freshman Year. A later report claimed that Vincent D'Onofrio would reprise his own role as Daredevil's archenemy Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in it, though this hasn't been confirmed.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year spins its web around Disney+ in November 2024.
