The masked Islamic State militant known as "Jihadi John", who has been pictured in the videos of the beheadings of Western hostages, has been named as Mohammed Emwazi.

A spokesman for the family of Steven Sotloff, one of the US captives he killed, told the BBC's Jon Sopel that they wanted to see him behind bars.
