The Toyota RAV4 is on track to becoming one of the best-selling cars of all time, after sales of the popular medium SUV sailed past the 10 million mark in February.
According to the Japanese car-maker, since the first-generation RAV4 first went on sale back in 1994, the model has found 10,080,834 buyers globally.
Incredibly, sales of the RAV4 are still going from strength to strength, with Toyota selling 965,760 current (fifth-generation) models in 2019.
North America is by far the RAV4's biggest market, with 2019 sales topping 535,000 – more than four times the number sold in the next biggest market, Europe (133,000).
Last year in Australia, the RAV4 was the eighth best-selling car, with Toyota Australia selling 24,260.
Coronavirus-related sales blip aside, the Toyota RAV4 could eclipse the Ford Model T's 15-million sales record in little over five years, although Toyota's own Corolla remains out of reach with 44 million sales.
