Official: Cloud9 sign Boombl4
After serving as a stand-in during their recent games, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov has now been welcomed as the full-time fifth for the Russian squad.

Cloud9 have announced the official signing of Boombl4, completing their roster after Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov recently stood down from the active lineup.

HLTV reached out to Cloud9 to clarify the in-game leadership situation within the team, but they declined to comment.
Boombl4 arrives in Cloud9 with an impressive resume, having won a Major and Intel Grand Slam with Natus Vincere over the course of 2020-2021. He was IGL for Natus Vincere at the time, but has been trading AWPing duties with Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy in the few maps he has played for Cloud9 thus far.
The 24-year-old has already played several matches for his new team, acting as a stand-in during their recent Thunderpick World Championship matches. He enjoyed a winning start to life with Cloud9 by taking down fnatic and Virtus.pro, whilst top-fragging for his side against the latter.
Cloud9 undertook an amibitious revamp of their roster in the recent summer player break by bringing Denis "electroNic" Sharipov and Perfecto in from Natus Vincere, creating what many in the community dubbed a superteam.

The results did not match the hype, however, and the Russian side swapped the IGL role from electroNic to Abay "HObbit" Khassenov in an attempt to remedy their form.
It seemed the role swap was a step in the right direction after Cloud9 successfully navigated the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown immediately after it occurred, but this was negated by the sudden departure of sh1ro after the squad’s early exit from IEM Sydney.
Cloud9 are now:
Abay "HObbit" Khassenov
Denis "electroNic" Sharipov
Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy
Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov
Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov
Konstantin "groove" Pikiner (coach)
Timur "buster" Tulepov (benched)
Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov (benched)
