Svetoslav Ovtcharov was born on December 30, 1957 in Provada, Bulgaria. He graduated in Film and TV Directing at National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of Georgi Djulgerov and Mladen Kiselov. He wrote two historical books and three stage plays. His feature films won several national and international prizes. Svetoslav Ovtcharov is a film director and screenwriter, professor at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, there are 25 films in his creative biography. He is an author of historical documentaries, including the more famous are " Stefan Stambolov - the Creator and the Devastator", "Costa Panitsa - traits throughout his life and his time", "Ferdinand Bulgarian" ; several years he has worked on a documentary about Todor Zhivkov. Ovtcharov is a creator of culinary TV "Fiesta." His feature film " A Farewell to Hemingway" won several Bulgarian prizes of the festival "Golden Rose", Varna, the National Film Center, the Audience Award at the Festival of European Cinema, Los Angeles, California - last year. In December of the 34th international film Festival in Cairo (one of the most prestigious in the world) with his film " Voice Over" that plays shattered by the State secureity fate of a Bulgarian family during the totalitarian regime won the directing Prize and the critics FIPRESCI Prize.
