First-quarter occupancy at the 505-room Emerald of Anaheim Hotel was the best in the hotel’s 5-year history, General Manager William Torresala said recently.

One reason is a large number of conventions during March, according to Torresala. He also traced some of the increase to the hotel’s increased recognition within the travel industry.

The Emerald, next to Disneyland, did not release specific numbers. The hotel is part of the Emerald/Pan Pacific Group, which includes the Emerald of San Diego and two properties in Hawaii.
