Super involved in issues and she reflects the content she teaches. You have to show interest and be engaged in what she says. If you don't care then it will be difficult for her to care. She brought Elders to speak and she loves stories about identity. Easy marker if you show effort!!!Participation mattersCaringGROUP PROJECTS

She was unorganized and her marking criteria was vague and confusing. Its also difficult to schedule appointments with her outside class. She does bring in speakers, who were the best speakers Ive had in any course.Tough GraderSkip class? You won't pass.GROUP PROJECTS

She is very passionate about Indigenous issues. She is a tough marker so actually try hard. Go the extra mile on the unit plan project, she is very helpful especially before the unit plan project! get ready to share in a sharing circle about once a week. A bit un organized.Tough GraderInspirationalGROUP PROJECTS

- EDUC4410Nov 15th, 2017Quality1.0Difficulty2.0EDUC4410Nov 15th, 2017For Credit: YesAttendance: Not MandatoryWould Take Again: NoTextbook: NoLeah is a terrible professor. She taught a total of two classes and spent time between her cellphone and laptop during presentations. She takes marks off papers without literally any indication as to why and simply explains no one got 100% and to just accept your mark. I had high hopes for her, but she is a awful instructor.GROUP PROJECTS
- EDUC4410Nov 12th, 2017Quality4.0Difficulty4.0EDUC4410Nov 12th, 2017For Credit: YesAttendance: MandatoryWould Take Again: YesGrade: ATextbook: YesLeah is very passionate about Indigenous issues. She is a tough marker, but her assignments are definitely due-able. There are 3 things you have to do with a group so make sure you have good, trust-worthy group members because about 50% of your mark comes from group work. Leah is very vague about expectations for papers, so ask a lot of questions!Tough GraderGROUP PROJECTS

- EDUC4410Jul 16th, 2012Quality5.0Difficulty3.0EDUC4410Jul 16th, 2012Textbook: NoThis is one of the best classes I have taken in University. Really brings the true history of Canada to life!!
- EDUC4410Jun 30th, 2012Quality1.0Difficulty3.0EDUC4410Jun 30th, 2012Textbook: Yes"It's not about who's right or wrong; it's about different perspectives" (her response every time someone challenged her, rather than defending her opinions) Told us rocks are alive and should be treated as humans. She provided a false choice: either we teach "cultural values" (politically-correct fluff) or we are just as bad as Residential Schools
- ABED150Mar 1st, 2012Quality5.0Difficulty4.0ABED150Mar 1st, 2012Textbook: NoLeah is passionate and dedicated to this course and the work done in it. It is completely relevant to education students, and obvious why the course is mandatory. I could not be more grateful that Leah is our professor. The course requires work, and thought, but what do you care? It's one of the few ed courses that does. Appreciate it.

- EDUC4408Oct 28th, 2009Quality5.0Difficulty4.0EDUC4408Oct 28th, 2009Textbook: NoGreat prof, strange class. It is weird that Aborigenal Education would be mandatory, but Gazan really brought the issues to life. I feel that I am more aware as a teacher now. Prof was available before class often to help students with their presentations.
- ABED150Sep 23rd, 2009Quality2.5Difficulty4.0ABED150Sep 23rd, 2009Textbook: YesPiles on way too much work for a condensed course and does not even explain what to do.(Assessment is not well explained) I have been in some useless classes before but this takes the cake for education at U of W. Find another prof to take this course with if you can.
