Scott M To like this movie you have to like Melanie Griffith. You also have to like sex in film, which is rarely done because R rated films don't make money. Personally it's one of my favorite films because it doesn't shy away from the sex and adult themes. The acting in the movie is phenomenal and it's one of my favorites. Everything feels intrinsically unnatural in this film. But hey, that's the 80s for you. As long as you can vibe to it's insipid cultural wares (which should be easier now for everyone since the 80s bizarrely went "classic"), you'll fall head over heels for this tone deaf vapid mess. I'd rather take some bad acid and drink a pail of white paint while trying to shave a pug with a lady shaver, than subject myself to this superficial, disposable crap again. Cheers Chip! It has a classic film, completely setting itself apart from any particular era with its throwback elements (the outfits, the cars, the style). It shifts tones in a believable sense and packs a punch as it gets there. Love, sacrifice, loneliness, and finding qualities within that you didn't knew were there all thanks to a little nudge from love. Pause . I have twenty minutes left to finish watching. I saw Sister Carol in Mill valley at a show. I like how music is used in this movie with real musicians including the Freelies Pause. This movie is rich with trivia, locations 80s nostalgia and product placement. This movie makes you think , what would I do, Of course its highly unlikely you could keep up with someone on the run but for the plot it works. This is one of those movies where you count the times you would walk away from a situation but don't or This movie does not drag some movies like st vincent had so many cliches that I have to skip scenes I never felt that way in this movie.
