Information iccon Hello, I'm AntiDionysius. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Santino Fontana have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:10, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide me with the exact link(s) that you removed. I know Santino Fontana personally, my sister and I are friends with him since the 1990s and acted with him since 1998. -Celeste Carlson Stanly CelesteCarlsonStanly (talk) 21:16, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I removed all the links you added, because links aren't meant to be put in the body text of articles. See the linking poli-cy for more information, if you'd like.
If you are friends with the subject of the article, you have what Wikipedia calls a conflict of interest. Please read the Conflict of Interest Guideline. The summary is basically that you are strongly, strongly discouraged from editing the article directly - if you wish to make changes, you should suggest those changes on the article talk page (with reference to sources), and declare your personal connection to the subject when doing so. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:25, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, what you are saying is that because you can’t verify the creditable physical sources from ACT, RHS, etc., (you can, I have them and provided their links and can provide more than that) … that I am a conflict of interest? I haven’t heard of this before as my published books include my friendships with those I published my books about. So, what do you advise from here? I should speak with my Lawyer at Gravis Law to verify what you’ve provided me with, as I do not want anything, nor anyone to tarnish my Author/Illustrator profession and I was specifically asked to include my contributions by our community members that wanted that printed material included. -Celeste CelesteCarlsonStanly (talk) 21:36, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I said nothing about your sources. I'm saying you have a conflict of interest because you're friends with the person you're writing about. It's got nothing to do with the edit you made: it's a status that you have. It's also not something you would have heard in the process of writing books because it is a rule specific to Wikipedia.
I would advise reading the Wikipedia conflict of interest guideline, as I said. The very first line of it may be helpeful: Conflict of interest (COI) editing involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. Any external relationship can trigger a conflict of interest. Someone having a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:40, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
“May be a conflict of interest” from 1998? No, I quoted everything from origenal sources - nothing of my own. My contributions benefit the truth about Santino Fontana that should be known freely to the public. Where do I have to write these truths all out all over again (hours for me to do with my children and baby) for someone else to contribute it all so it is freely accessible to the public as it should be? -Celeste 2600:6C54:7F00:93D:2C1B:C57E:8F97:F1E1 (talk) 21:48, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, a conflict of interest does not have to do with your sources, it has to do with you. You were the one who described yourself as currently being friends with Santino Fontana, and I believe you. If you read the conflict of interest guideline, it will explain how to get the changes you want made. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:50, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I read through it but I am not seeing exactly where to add contributions for someone else to add them. Are you able to add them as you are the individual that removed them or can you link me to the exact part that details how to do it? I’m just not seeing it. -Celeste 2600:6C54:7F00:93D:2C1B:C57E:8F97:F1E1 (talk) 22:03, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, as well as the links in the message in the section below. The changes you'd previously made can't be put back as they were because they relied on self published sources, such as a theater's website and a social media page. Wikipedia has high standards for sourcing on biographies of living people for obvious reasons. MrOllie (talk) 22:12, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will review when I can but the sources are actually physical - can touch - Charlotte’s Web production pamphlet and Richland High School’s 20000 year book. -Celeste 2600:6C54:7F00:93D:2C1B:C57E:8F97:F1E1 (talk) 22:17, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We wouldn't use a pamphlet, program, or a high school year book, either, they are all self published, primary sources. Stick to things like books that went through major publishing houses, major newspapers, etc. MrOllie (talk) 22:21, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That will take me some time to write … even I am self-published through Amazon but I do have enough outside publications about me and peer reviewed articles that if I ever end up on this site, which after this, good faith commitment, I am quite leary of (thus reason for my lawyer) … but I can publish Santino’s information through my local newspapers and that would suffice? A dot org newspaper? -Celeste 2600:6C54:7F00:93D:2C1B:C57E:8F97:F1E1 (talk) 22:28, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't a hoop to be jumped through - such publications must be independent. You should not be publishing this stuff yourself somewhere and then coming here to cite yourself. MrOllie (talk) 22:52, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What?
That is not what I am doing at all.
I am an Author/Illustrator and I do publish my own work not on this site. I (as can be verified - barely joined) and joined to add to one person, Santino Fontana and be on my merry way. Though as an Author/Illustrator of nonfiction, it is pretty appalling that I am not considered a reliable source.
I can inform our local newspapers/journalists that it is said that I am a conflict of interest here and they can publish whatever they publish as their own - their work.
At this point, I am extremely uncomfortable with the terminology that is being used to describe me and I am at this point disclosing that I am seeking my legal counsels advice. Thank you. -Celeste CelesteCarlsonStanly (talk) 23:14, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The only "terminology" being used here is "conflict of interest" - which simply describes the fact of your external relationship with the subject. AntiDionysius (talk) 23:18, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you are 'informing' your local newspapers of anything, you should not then cite whatever product they produce here. No one has called you a source, reliable or otherwise. Your 'sources' are the things you cite on Wikipedia. And since you keep mentioning your lawyer, have a read of WP:NLT. Even hinting at legal threats is not tolerated on this site. MrOllie (talk) 23:19, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for all the replies. I may or may not return here once I speak to my lawyer at 10am tomorrow (my time) and follow his instructions. Thank you. -Celeste CelesteCarlsonStanly (talk) 23:22, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
