Early this past week, the first of a series of solid South Pacific swells passed through Tahitian waters. The swell lit up Teahupoo just in time for the arrival of some top end Championship Tour pros, keen for some practice at the fabled reef ahead of next week’s Shisheido Tahiti Pro. Yet as always at this stellar yet challenging spot — and as always, in the most relaxed way possible — the local surfers did the finest work. Check this look at the energy and skills on show during Tuesday’s swell peak, as Ariimoana David, Eimeo Czermak, Matahi Drollet and Mateia Hiquily share waves with Liam O’Brien, Joao Chianca, Mikey Redd and Kala Grace. Good times with a lot more to come.
