Well, the thing about Brad Pitt is that once he walks into a camera frame, it is almost impossible to not have one’s focus entirely locked onto his face, with a total disregard for the backdrop and rest of the players. With his effortless magnetism that seems to suction every light molecule toward his direction, Pitt has made a career that defies his superficial beauty and leans into his creative and artistic exploits.

David Fincher, being one of the oldest and long-time collaborators of Pitt knows all of this, having directed him in 3 movies since their Oscar-nominated 1995 film, Seven. However, it is neither Seven nor Fight Club (for which they reunited again in 1998) that Fincher considers Pitt’s ultimate cinematic pinnacle. That unique credit goes to another movie entirely.

Tom Cruise began his acting career in the 1980s, but it took him quite some time before he could establish himself as the commercial star we know today. Before some of his biggest blockbusters, Cruise featured in some supporting roles that set the foundation for his career, even if most fans do not remember them today.

Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film happened only because the director was able to convey the emotional core of the film to the actor in 20 minutes. When Joe Kosinski approached Cruise for Top Gun: Maverick, he knew that a sequel wouldn’t be at the top of the mind for the Mission: Impossible actor. However, Kosinski’s pitch impressed Cruise, who immediately greenlit the film.

Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun, was in development hell for years. Cruise dismissed the idea of a sequel in the ’90s itself. Tony Scott, the original director, was attached to the project in 2010, as development began at Paramount Pictures. However, Scott’s death in 2012 put the sequel in uncertainty for a long time before Kosinski took it up in 2017.

Christopher McQuarrie's 2015 action blockbuster "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" — the fifth film in the series, and handily its best — has an unexpectedly inverted action movie structure. It begins with the film's biggest, most impressive stunt, and ends with characters merely sitting around a table, discussing how they are to defuse a bomb strapped to a colleague and locate the bad guy who is orchestrating his end of the conversation by remote. And yet, despite the inversion, the tension never stops mounting. Each moment of the film's extended climax gets decreasingly small, while the excitement only rises.
Recall that, just two hours before, audiences were witnessing an unsimulated stunt, wherein Tom Cruise clung to the side of a plane as it was taking off, riding it up into the sky. Cruise actually had to be strapped to the side of a real plane to do that, and even required special...

A new photo has been shared from the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps featuring a who's who of Marvel Comics talent.
That includes C.B. Cebulski, David Bogart, Tom Brevoort, Alan Davis, Heather Davis, Chip Zdarsky, Dan Slott, Mark Bagley, Matt Fraction, Ryan North, Sara Pichelli, Tom DeFalco, a mix of writers, artists, and editors who have all contributed to the Fantastic Four mythos.
However, the biggest talking point is a new look at Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm in 1960s-style garb. In the background, we see a couple of blue spacesuits featuring the iconic "4" logo.
Are those what Marvel's First Family wore when they travelled into outer space and acquired their fantastic powers? Whatever the case may be, the design is awesome, especially as the "4" has also been incorporated into the helmets.

Despite Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible, Brad Pitt’s Fight Club, and Bruce Willis’s Die Hard, Bullock swam through the noise to land on the shore of Hollywood legends.

After making his entry into the film industry and gaining significant recognition with films like Risky Business, Tom Cruise had his major breakout in the 1986 action drama Top Gun, portraying Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchel. He later reprised the role in the 2022 sequel, which has since become the highest-grossing film of his career.
However, the foundation for a successful franchise, which has a third installment on the way, might never have been laid without Ridley Scott’s 1985 film Legend, which inspired the action star to explore adventurous stories such as Top Gun.
How Ridley Scott’s Legend Shaped Tom Cruise’s Path to Top Gun?
In 1985 Tom Cruise starred in Ridley Scott’s epic fantasy film Legend, a film about Jack, a forest boy who becomes a savior after a night-dwelling demon threatens to envelop the world in eternal darkness by killing unicorns and kidnapping a princess.

Something similar happened on the sets of his 1993 sports romance All the Right Moves as well. Apparently, during filming, there was a moment when his co-star Lea Thompson was asked to get n-ked, but she wasn’t comfortable doing that. Thus, Cruise not only talked the producers out of it but even threatened to get n-ked himself if his conditions weren’t met!

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood, thanks to his recent string of hits such as the Mission: Impossible and Top Gun sequels. However, Cruise made a name for himself in the 1990s and early 2000s by working with several visionary directors, including the likes of Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.

Despite critical acclaim for his collaborations with auteurs, Cruise has distanced himself from them. Instead, the actor has stuck to the tried and tested action formula, which mostly resulted in box office success for him. However, there is a surprising reason why Cruise no longer works with directors like Spielberg and Scorsese, and here is everything you need to know about it.

A Worrying Pattern in Andrew Garfield’s Love Life Makes Us Scared That He May End Up Like Tom Cruise
Hollywood star Andrew Garfield seems to be treading a similar path to that of action star Tom Cruise—not in terms of his career, but rather regarding his romantic life. Known for his acclaimed on-screen performances in films like The Amazing Spider-Man, Tick, Tick… Boom! and most recently in We Live in Time, the actor’s love life has taken center stage after a recent breakup with Dr. Kate Tomas.

And the pattern of successive relationships and breakups without finding lasting romantic stability has raised concerns for the 41-year-old actor, drawing comparisons to Tom Cruise’s own history of tumultuous relationships.

The 1983 helicopter action film Blue Thunder is said to be the inspiration for Christopher Nolan’s next film – at least according to the latest rumour circulating.
Speculation regarding Christopher Nolan’s next project is really starting to ramp up with rumours emerging, being debunked and then replaced, almost as quickly as we can cover them. It’s been a week since it was officially confirmed that the British filmmaker would be following up the incredible critical and commercial success of last year’s Oppenheimer by once again partnering with Universal. We also got a release date for the next Nolan project: 17th July, 2026.
With Nolan projects being what they are, a typical veil of secrecy surrounds the movie but fear not, the ever-dependent rumour mill has ground into action and in the seven days or so that have followed, we’ve had series of reports offer differing threads of speculation...

Mission: Impossible 8, starring Tom Cruise, has been shooting for nearly two years – and it’s set to cost over $300m.
The next entry in the Mission: Impossible series could be facing an uphill battle to reach profitability, should a new report regarding the project’s budget be accurate.
All the way back in March, production on the film restarted following a pause in production. Originally, the film was set to be shot back-to-back with Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning but then a global pandemic and a near-year of Hollywood strikes complicated things just a touch. The production of the as-yet untitled eighth film was suspended, reportedly with about 40% in the can.
Back in March, production resumed with the stakes high, not least because Dead Reckoning – despite earning an impressive $567m at the global box office – came with a prettty hefty price tag. It was itself a film that had endured a pricey production,...

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest and most bankable commercial stars in the world. However, that wasn’t the case back in the 1980s, when Cruise appeared in the coming-of-age crime drama film The Outsiders. In the movie, Cruise was featured alongside Rob Lowe along with other emerging talents of the time, such as Patrick Swayze and Ralph Macchio.

Two things that have remained constant throughout all the Mission: Impossible entries are Tom Cruise’s awe-inspiring stunt works and Ving Rhames’ Luther Stickell. With the eighth installment on the way, things aren’t looking to shift much, both for Stickell and Cruise’s death-defying stunts.

Expect the summer of 2025 to be a big one, with Disney announcing two huge live-action projects are coming that year!
Disney movies have been having their share of problems in the last year. There have been too many high-profile duds like Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Wish. Even the MCU has faltered with The Marvels an outright bomb amid behind-the-scenes turmoil.
It’s not helped by the 2023 Hollywood strikes halting productions, and Disney has been forced to rearrange its slate. However, the success of Inside Out 2 has restored confidence in the company. They’ll be keeping that up with Moana 2 coming out at Thanksgiving and Mufasa for Christmas.
Disney had already rearranged their slate as Snow White, intended for this fall, will now premiere on March 21, 2025. Meanwhile, Pixar’s Elio, which was supposed to come this past June, was pushed an entire year to June 13.

Australian actress Nicole Kidman began her professional career in 1983 with an appearance in the holiday film "Bush Christmas," and followed it immediately with Brian Trenchard-Smith's very watchable teens-rule actioner "BMX Bandits." She was 16 at the time. Kidman was a striking screen presence, however, and she immediately began a busy career that hasn't slowed since. For six years, Kidman was all over Aussie TV and cinema, with the actress finally breaking into Hollywood in 1989 with her role in the taut thriller "Dead Calm." In 1990, she was cast opposite Tom Cruise in Tony Scott's "Days of Thunder," and her superstar status was cemented. She also began dating Cruise that year, and they married in 1990, staying one of Hollywood's most visible power couples for a decade.

Toni Vaz, an actor and activist who created the NAACP Image Awards, died on Oct. 4 in Woodland Hills, Calif. She was 101.
Vaz’s parents immigrated to the U.S. from Barbados and she was one of four siblings raised in New York City in the 1950s. Her mother did not allow her to watch movies. However, upon coming of age, Vaz moved to Hollywood where she was cast as an extra in the 1959 film “Tarzan, the Ape Man.” She performed a scene opposite MGM’s Leo the Lion.
After appearing in front of the camera for the first time, Vaz was cast in films like “Anna Lucasta” as well as “The Singing Nun,” leading her to transition to stunt work, which was a first for a Black woman.
Vaz worked as a double for Cicely Tyson on the TV series “Mission: Impossible,” performing daring stunts in front of the camera such as dangling from helicopters.

Toni Vaz — a trailblazing stunt performer, actress and activist, who also founded the NAACP Image Awards — has died at 101.
She died Oct. 4 in Woodland Hills, according to a spokesperson for Vaz, at the Motion Picture & Television Fund assisted living facility, where she was a longtime resident.
In addition to her acting roles and stuntwork that had her doubling for such stars as Cicely Tyson, she founded the NAACP Image Awards to honor her peers and encourage studios and producers to hire and honor a wider range of talent. The first Image Awards ceremony was held on Aug. 13, 1967 in the Beverly Hills Hotel’s International Ballroom.
However, she was not credited with founding the awards until 2021, when she was honored at the awards’ 52nd ceremony. “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson introduced her. You can watch a clip of the moment below:

However, she was not credited with founding the awards until 2021, when she was honored at the awards’ 52nd ceremony. “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson introduced her. You can watch a clip of the moment below:

Toni Vaz, an actor-turned-pioneering stunt performer who went on to found the NAACP Image Awards, had died. She was 101. A spokesperson told Deadline that Vaz died October 4 at the Motion Picture Fund campus in Woodland Hills but did not provide other details.
Growing up in New York City, Vaz’s Barbados-native mother wouldn’t let her watch movies. But when she came of age, Vaz headed to Hollywood. She was cast as an extra in the 1959 feature Tarzan the Ape Man, doing a scene opposite MGM’s Leo the Lion. She later had small roles in Anna Lucasta and 1966’s The Singing Nun, which led to a new career in stunt work — a first for a Black woman.

Everyone’s favorite furry, blue alien is getting ready to make his live-action debut in theaters when Disney’s Lilo & Stitch arrives on May 23, 2025! Brazenly, that Memorial Day weekend is the same release window for Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible movie with Tom Cruise. While Lilo & Stitch targets parents and children, Mission: Impossible aims to please older male audiences, creating a divided but competitive box office face-off. Disney announced the release date for Lilo & Stitch alongside a date for its Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis-led sequel, Freakier Friday.
Disney‘s live-action Lilo & Stitch stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo in reimagining the mouse-eared studio’s 2002 animated classic. Other players include Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Courtney B. Vance, Sydney Agudong, and Chris Sanders as the voice of Stitch. The plot focuses on a young, parentless girl who adopts a “dog” from the local pound,...

Showrunner Tasha Huo has always been a “Tomb Raider” fan. In fact, when she was a little girl, her mother told her to stop playing the video games and go outside. Instead, she continued to play in secret. So when Huo was approached by one of the producers for Netflix’s “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” after they saw her posts about “Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” she was thrilled.
“I was really fascinated by what this woman’s daily life might be behind-the-scenes of going in and raiding tombs. What is she dealing with beyond that?” Huo told TheWrap.
Lara Croft was first introduced to the world in 1996 with the first “Tomb Raider” video game for the Sega Saturn. In the ensuing decades, the mythology and backstory around Lara have changed, but the central beats of her games have remained the same: Lara is a confident and quippy archaeologist-adventurer who solves puzzles,...

Lilo & Stich moves onto the Memorial Day weekend where it joins Paramount’s next installment of Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible with Tom Cruise. Surely, both can share the wealth, with M:i geared toward male adults and the Disney pic toward families.
Newcomer Maia Kealoha plays Lilo in the live-action version of the Hawaii-set 2002 animated pic; the new take was originally developed for Disney+ before shifting to a theatrical release. The cast also includes Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen. You didn't think the Joker would be the only one putting a twisted smile on your face this spooky season, did you? Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix, and Lady Gaga had no choice but to watch as their version of the Clown Prince of Crime dropped the ball with the critical and box office disaster of "Joker: Folie à Deux," but maybe a more modest sequel to another horror hit could pick up the slack in a big way. In 2022, "Smile" scared the living daylights out of audiences on its way to generally positive reviews and a total of well over $200 million worldwide -- both key ingredients to greenlighting an inevitable sequel. Fast forward a couple of years later, and "Smile 2" is already staring down the barrel of a much-needed opening weekend success. And those prospects just increased significantly now that early reactions have just begun to hit social media.

Tom Cruise starred in numerous blockbuster films throughout his career. While he has delivered exceptional performances, the action star has notably done only two sequels outside of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Top Gun: Maverick and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

While Maverick turned out to be a massive hit, renewing the action film series with the 2022 sequel, the same could not be said about the latter. After Christopher McQuarrie’s 2012 film, Edward Zwick took over the sequel, which ultimately fell short of expectations.
The filmmaker later reflected on the movie’s failure in his book, admitting that his attempt to put a personal spin on the story ultimately led to the downfall of the franchise.

Tom Cruise has become synonymous with extreme action sequences in Hollywood, a reputation he fully embraces. The actor has openly admitted to loving stunts, even going as far as hiring a new safety coordinator if told he couldn’t perform one.

However, in his drive for thrilling action and stunt work, he sometimes goes to unnecessary extremes. A similar situation unfolded during the production of Steven Spielberg’s 2002 sci-fi film Minority Report, where Cruise took an excessive approach to one particular action scene that wasn’t entirely necessary.

While some of Tom Cruise’s most daring feats, such as climbing the Burj Khalifa and hanging off a plane, are mainly seen in the Mission: Impossible franchise, his passion for action sequences is also evident in earlier films, particularly in the 2002 sci-fi movie Minority Report.
