History
The service was initially launched in the United States as CBS All Access on October 28, 2014. A Canadian version was launched on April 23, 2018.[1] An Australian version named 10 All Access (based on CBS Corporation-owned Network 10) was launched on December 4, 2018. Soon after the CBS Corporation's re-merger with Viacom on December 4, 2019 [2], the service was expanded to include movies from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon programming.[3] On September 15, 2020, ViacomCBS announced that it would rebrand CBS All Access and 10 All Access to Paramount+,[4] a name which was already used on an SVOD service in the Nordic countries. On January 19, 2021, they announced that it would launch on March 4 in the US and Latin America.[5] On March 4, 2021, CBS All Access officially relaunched as Paramount+. Beginning in 2024, all forthcoming Paramount films are planned to be streamed exclusively through Paramount+ after their theatrical runs conclude.
Starting in September 2022, retailer Walmart partnered with Paramount+ as a subscription bundle included for the Walmart+ membership.[6]

Notes
- Following the announcement that Roku would allow advertisers to buy custom placement in the "Roku City" screensaver on their devices, Paramount+ became the first to do so, with the customized screensaver appearing between May 25–29, 2023. The screensaver featured buildings and iconography from various shows and films on the platform, with EarthSpark Bumblebee and Optimus Prime among the characters appearing.[7]
- Paramount+ subscriptions can be purchased through Amazon.com Prime Video (Prime/Prime Video membership required), Apple TV, The Roku Channel, or YouTube.
- In somewhat foreshadowing for his part in Transformers One, Keegan-Michael Key appeared in a Paramount+ commercial reprising his role Mr. Garvey, a popular recurring character from Key and Peele alongside Bumbleebay as one of his students.
