Prior to his acting career, Todd worked for a few years at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in the early 1990s as a cabriolet driver, among other things. Amongst his cohorts, he was known for his strength, speed, agility, stealth and sense of humor, occasionally taking part in practical jokes, i.e. the Prince's Feast.
